7 January 2014 - To facilitate the Opening Ceremony & Official Light Up of the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations, on 11 January 2014, 15 SBS Transit Bus Services will be diverted due to road closures while the operating hours of train services and the three Chinatown Direct bus services will be extended.
Bus Services
On Saturday, 11 January 2014, from 2.00pm to 11.00pm, 15 SBS Transit bus services - 2, 12, 33, 54, 63, 80, 124, 143, 145, 147, 166, 197, CT8, CT18 and CT28 - will skip eight bus stops along Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road, Outram Road and Upper Cross Street due to road closures for the event.To better serve the travel needs of commuters, the service hours for Services CT8, CT18 and CT28 will be extended that evening. The last bus for these three services will depart from the bus stop at Eu Tong Sen Street - After Hospital Drive (bus stop number 10017) at 12.30am. CT8 serves Ang Mo Kio bus interchange, CT 18 serves Bedok bus interchange and CT28 serves Clementi bus interchange.
Train Services
Train service hours on the North East Line and Downtown Line will be extended on the night of 11 January 2014.The last NEL train in the direction of Harbourfront will depart Punggol Station at 12.02am, Serangoon Station at 12.13am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.25am, Chinatown Station at 12.29am and Outram Park Station at 12.31am. In the direction of Punggol, the last train will depart Harbourfront Station at 12.29am, Outram Park Station at 12.32am, Chinatown Station at 12.34am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.38am and Serangoon Station at 12.50am.
The last LRT train will depart five minutes after the arrival of the NEL last train at Sengkang and Punggol Stations. The last Sengkang LRT train is scheduled to depart the Town Centre at 1.05am while the last train for Punggol LRT will depart the Town Centre at 1.07am.
On the Downtown Line, the last train in the direction of Bugis will depart Chinatown Station at 12.19am, Bayfront Station at 12.24am and Promenade Station at 12.26am. The last train towards Chinatown will leave Bugis at 12.20am, Promenade at 12.22am and Bayfront Station at 12.24am.

In light of increased demand during the festive season, train and selected bus service hours will be extended on 11, 18 and 25 January 2014.
North-South and East-West Lines
The last trains toward Joo Koon, Pasir Ris, Marina Bay and Jurong East MRT stations will depart City Hall MRT station at 12.30am on 11, 18 and 25 January.
Circle Line
The last train towards HarbourFront MRT station will depart Dhoby Ghaut MRT station at 11.55pm. The last train towards Dhoby Ghaut MRT station will depart HarbourFront MRT station at 11.30pm on 11, 18 and 25 January.
Bukit Panjang LRT
Passengers on the last northbound train can connect to the last Bukit Panjang LRT train at 1.30am on 11, 18 and 25 January.
Extended feeder bus service hours
Passengers on the last trains can connect to the following feeder bus services on 11 January, 18 January and 25 January at the timings below:
- (Bukit Batok) 173A, 189A, 941, 945, 947 - {Last bus timing} 1.40am
- (Choa Chu Kang) 300, 302, 307 - {Last bus timing} 1.35am
- (Sembawang) 859A - {Last bus timing} 1.25am
- (Woodlands) 901, 911, 912, 913 - {Last bus timing} 1.20am
- (Yishun) 804, 812 - {Last bus timing} 1.30am
Bus diversion due to Chinese New Year Celebrations at Chinatown
SMRT bus services 61, 190, 851, 961 and 970 will be temporarily diverted on 11 January from 2.00pm to 11.00pm, 30 January from 5.00pm to 3.00am and 9 February from 2.00pm to 11.00pm, due to road closures for the Chinese New Year Celebrations at Chinatown.

From Monday, 13 January 2014, the first bus of this service will start from Punggol Interchange at 5.00am on weekdays instead of 5.15am.

A new loop bus service - Service 371 - will begin operation from 19 January 2014. The service will provide better connectivity for commuters travelling from Rivervale Crescent to Sengkang MRT Station and bus interchange. This is the 19th bus service launched under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).
The new service will operate from Sengkang bus interchange and ply along Compassvale Road, Compassvale Street, Rivervale Drive and Rivervale Crescent. Besides enhancing connectivity to key transport nodes such as Sengkang MRT Station, the new service will also provide convenient access to amenities including Rivervale Mall and schools such as Compassvale Primary and Secondary and Rivervale Primary.
The service will operate daily from 5.45am till 12.35am.

SBS Transit will be extending the operating hours of its train services as well as its Chinatown Direct bus services in the weeks leading up to the Chinese New Year, so as to cater to the travel needs of commuters better.
TRAIN SERVICES
North East Line
For the next two Saturdays, 18 and 25 January, the last train in the direction of HarbourFront will depart Punggol Station at 12.02am, Serangoon Station at 12.13am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.25am, Chinatown Station at 12.29am and Outram Park Station at 12:31am. The last train towards Punggol will leave HarbourFront Station at 12:29am, Outram Park Station at 12.32am, Chinatown Station at 12.34am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.38am and Serangoon Station at 12.50am.
Sengkang and Punggol LRT
Services on the Punggol and Sengkang LRT systems will also be extended to coincide with the last train arrivals on the North East Line for the two Saturdays, 18 and 25 January 2014. The last train on the Sengkang LRT will depart the Town Centre Station at 1.05am while the last train on the Punggol LRT will leave the Town Centre at 1.07am.
Downtown Line
Similarly for the two Saturdays, 18 and 25 January 2014, the last train in the direction of Bugis will depart Chinatown Station at 12.19am, Bayfront Station at 12.24am and Promenade Station at 12.26am. The last train towards Chinatown will leave Bugis at 12.20am, Promenade at 12.22am and Bayfront Station at 12.24am.
BUS SERVICES
The operating hours of the three Chinatown Direct Bus Services will also be extended in the weeks leading up to the Chinese New Year. CT8, which plies between Ang Mo Kio and Chinatown, and CT8, which travels from Bedok to Chinatown, currently operate on a daily basis. CT28 which plies between Clementi and Chinatown, on the other hand, operates only during the Chinese New Year festive period. Since 11 January 2014, CT28 has been in operation and will continue to do so until 30 January 2014.
For two Saturdays, 18 and 25 January 2014, the last bus of CT8, CT18 and CT28 heading to Chinatown will depart from their respective heartlands at 9.00pm instead of their usual times at 8.00pm. The last bus back from Chinatown will depart at 12.30am from the bus stop after Hospital Drive (bus stop number 10017) along Eu Tong Sen Street.
From 27 to 29 January 2014, three days preceding CNY eve, the last bus to Chinatown will similarly depart from the three heartlands at 9.00pm while the last bus will leave Chinatown at 12.00am.
On all other weekdays, from 11 January to 26 January, the three services to Chinatown will operate from 10.00am to 4.30pm while the return journey will be from 11.00am to 5.00pm. On Sundays, they will operate from 10.00am to 8.00pm towards Chinatown while the return trip will be from 11am to 10pm.
