i think SBS Transit was caught off-guard by the road closure.. it is possible this notice didn't make it to the bus stops..

To facilitate Thaipusam Religious Procession, the stretch of Clemenceau Avenue between River Valley Road and Penang Road (in the direction towards Penang Road) will be closed from 9pm on Wednesday, 4th February 2004 to 2am on Friday, 6 February 2004. Services 64, 123, 143 and 143 will be diverted and not call at two bus stops along Clemenceau Ave (04311 Sri Thendandayuthapani Temple and 08011) during the affected period.
At the same time, a bus stop along Prinsep Street (08079 H0otel Rendezous) and a stop along Serangoon Road (07211 Sri Srinivasa Temple) will be skipped to facilitate this event. Services 21, 23, 64, 65, 66, 125, 130, 131, 139, 147 and 166 will not call at the affected bus stops. Passengers can board/alight at the nearest bus stop.

Services 64 and 139 were diverted to turn right at the junction of Clemenceau Ave and River Valley Rd use River Valley Rd, Hill St, Stamford Rd and Prinsep St before continuing on its existing route.
Services 123 and 143 were diverted to turn right at the junction of Clemenceau Ave and River Valley Rd use River Valley Rd, Hill St, Stamford Rd, Orchard Rd and Penang Rd before continuing on its existing route.
why Hotel Rendezvous bus stop was skipped is a mystery.. anyone been there today before..? -

Yes, also they adjusted the NEL as well

There is no poster of such event on bus stops along the affected services' route. However, the poster was hung at, for instance, Services 23 & 65 boarding queue at Tampines Interchange. Buses of these 2 services, as well as other affected services, was also pasted with the diversion notice at the front windscreen.

This really looks like a rushed job but I did notice the paper pasted on the buses.

My guess is that it will be a hassle for the buses to turn in and out of the bus bay in such an event. -
