Enhancement of Svc 131 from Sunday 19 June
Notices have been put up regarding the enhancement of Svc 131 from Sun 19 June to ply Bukit Purmei...there's no mention of the withdrawal of Svc 275 as yet.
Haven't they been killing feeder svs in recent yrs and replaced by trunk?Originally posted by tranquilice:From the previous thread.
In my opinion, service 275 should be withdrawn as it will duplicates service 131 after its enhancement.
I think the enhancement is to re-create the lost link by ex-service 605 between Telok Blangah Way and Bt Purmei Ave.
Does this mean that Bt Purmei will now have a direct link to the nearest MRT Stn (HBF)? I know the reason for Svc 123 is to link this estate with TBR Stn, but that is a bit far away compared with HBF.Originally posted by tranquilice:In my opinion, service 275 should be withdrawn as it will duplicates service 131 after its enhancement.

That's why I'm wondering why service 275 still remain in operation.Originally posted by sbst275:Haven't they been killing feeder svs in recent yrs and replaced by trunk?
Might as well be Sv 65Originally posted by iveco:Does this mean that Bt Purmei will now have a direct link to the nearest MRT Stn (HBF)? I know the reason for Svc 123 is to link this estate with TBR Stn, but that is a bit far away compared with HBF.
Bt Purmei should be better served by 855, since this service provides a more direct link to HBF MRT. 131 goes a longer way.

If svc 65 goes to Bt Purmei, it may lose its DD fleet. Bt Purmei Rd is quite narrow.Originally posted by sbst275:Might as well be Sv 65

Yes, with the enhancement, Bt Purmei passengers will have a direct link to HarbourFront MRT station.Originally posted by iveco:Does this mean that Bt Purmei will now have a direct link to the nearest MRT Stn (HBF)? The latest ex-service 84 can be considered a feeder too.

Do you mean Bt Purmei Ave? I don't think 12m buses can ply the narrow and zig-zag Bt Purmei Rd.Originally posted by iveco:If svc 65 goes to Bt Purmei, it may lose its DD fleet. Bt Purmei Rd is quite narrow.
actually, i asked SBS last time about the duplication of 371 with 163 a few years back. it was said that in the fernvale area, pax taking 163 will pay 83 cents, while 371 will costs 63 cents. the presence of 371, a feeder svc, is to let passengers pay the minimum to get to the town centre. However, now, 371 is withdrawn, and 163A (wuich i never seen it), replaces 371 exactly. the fares to fernvale on 163 were also subsequently adjusted to be fixed to 63 cents.. well well.... same as 227 and 17 i bedok..Originally posted by sbst275:But they are still within 64c (wef 1 June) range
In fact, it was mentioned in the introduction posters that service 84 would be temporary until Punggol LRT opens for operation.Originally posted by sbst275:It seems more like a interim sv for the LRT
Yah... Once feeder gone, they make the fare stage in a way to make entire new town within 5.0Originally posted by 105090:actually, i asked SBS last time about the duplication of 371 with 163 a few years back. it was said that in the fernvale area, pax taking 163 will pay 83 cents, while 371 will costs 63 cents. the presence of 371, a feeder svc, is to let passengers pay the minimum to get to the town centre.
