If you can afford it, get an Honors Degree in Mathematics from NUS or NTU, paying your own fees. MOE will still sponsor your NIE Diploma education, and the contract bond is for a shorter number of years. You get to choose to be a Primary, Secondary or JC teacher.
If your family got serious financial problems, you can apply for having a MOE contract, in which they'll sponsor your NTU Degree education, together with NIE Diploma education, and you'll be bonded for a longer number of years, and you can only teach Primary school and Secondary school, but can't teach JC.
You'll have to check with MOE / NIE website for the latest updates, because it's been 1.5 decades since I was an MOE teacher, many changes to contractual agreements liao.
Does anyone know if it is possible to sit for a science practical examination (as a private candidate in A levels) without having to enroll in any private insitution or prior knowledge in the area (except in O levels) ? Also, is the learning curve for H2 Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics steep compared to the 'O' levels subject: Pure Chemistry, Pure Physics and Additional Mathematics?
Thank you to anyone who replied in advance

H2 subjects are 10x tougher than O level subjects. If you want to learn H2 subjects as a private candidate, you'll need private tuition. Studying on your own, possible to pass, but much more difficult to get A grade on your own.

By right, cannot. By left, do at your own risk. Ohh, I see. I guess I'll have to spend money on the practical then, can't risk kena blacklist. Might be engaging in a tutor after a year or so to clarify my doubts, thanks for answering!

Nanyang Polytechnic also.
Temasek Polytechnic also.
Republic Polytechnic also.
Only Ngee Ann don't allow.
Anyway, why you want to go Ngee Ann? I know Ngee Ann very fun la, but it's damn hell inaccessible. Everyday have to squeeze bus with people from SIM, and walk long distances.
Come Singapore Polytechnic.
SP got me.
And, it's just next to Dover MRT Station.
SP + yenyen10, ok?
And, why must it be chinese studies?
I see your Maths and POA very good.
Why not consider Business courses?

Hey everyone! I've been wondering if Serangoon JC or Catholic JC is a better choice? I can enter both JCs with my marks but I can't decide on either. Can anyone give me some advice? Based on results on the culture, which is better?

You can't. It's to protect the schools so that they won't have reserve the place for students for nothing. However, although you can be accepted through EAE, you have up to a certain date before the O results to decline. If you do, you can still participate in JAE. The dates differ from year to year. Check this website for more info. https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/direct-admissions/eae/overview

I'm also considering between CJC and SRJC. Just see which one is nearer to your house and also consider the subject combinations as well. The CCAs too! Based on results, I've heard SRJC is quite hard also. But for CJC there are many retainees per year but my friend told me that the teachers are easily approachable and also if you study hard, can make it :D Let me know if u decide on CJC! Hope to see u there :O
Btw, what subject combi are u interested in both schools? :)
Hi. CJC and SRJC are about the same. You can check which JC is stronger in terms of your desired CCA. SRJC offers hybrid combination of Arts and Science subjects.
Check that the JC has your desired subject combination.
Travelling distance from your home is very important. Time is very precious in JC life, so hopefully your home is near to either of the JCs.
If you are taking Chem, you can consider tuition with BedokFunlandJC.

Better = Harder (to score high GPA)
Anyway, looking at the COP, you should already know which Poly is better in business.
