trigo the easiest
Great , i will practise my math very hard from now thanks for the advice by the way :) and dont bluff me leh trigo where got easy ? i heard from my CCA mates that trigo is killing them as well as integration.... but anyway thanks guys !
standard trigo qns just pluck in formulas from the given formulae list can liao.. but hard ones really got a lot of patterns that need eye power.
speaking of eye power, there is the legendary topic in amath that is the Proofs in Plane Geometry...i think this is the only one that really depends on luck. anyway, you are taking o levels this year or next year?
Trust me, you have no idea how lucky you are to have proofing in plane geometry removed. I was the last batch to take that and it sucked up 30mins of my precious time which could have been used to check my other answers. I have always hated that topic. The only thing hard about trigonometry would be the proofing of identities. Some of them can be really hard. Most of the A Maths questions would become relatively easy provided that you practise enough.
oh haha paiseh i didnt it got removed liao. that's great news. i agree with bickeringwhale that the most other topics are relatively easy once you practise enough.
what i liked about amaths is their generosity in the marks allocation. must absolutely score for things like the differentiation and integration section. i remember in my year cambridge generously gave 11 marks for it!
A maths is not complusory to get into Junior College.
Sometimes, don't be stubborn about only Junior College. Most important is you do well. Junior College people are not definitely better off because once they failed A level, they are just O level cert holder with nothing much.
donkey years ago, I got E8 for 3 major examinations. Then I decide to do my TYS, but I did everything on my own. I refer to textbook examples, and tried till I understand the concept. I did my TYS once, I manage to attain an A2 for O level. Nowadays, they try to be include some thinking questions, if you just do TYS and try memorise questions. You can't do well.
C5 in E maths is not really good. Check the school average score and try one TYS paper, if you don't score 75 and above at this stage, maybe is good to focus on Emaths then risk by taking both mathematics. One mathematics is complusory in application for junior college or polytechinics.
If you really can't understand or summarize, just employ a tutor. It will only be a few months and just practise enough and ask so much questions that it make your money worthwhile. It is harder to find a good tutor when it approaches O level and prices increase for some tutors.
When doing, the most important is understand and think. Some people just refer to answer while practising or ask friends for help, they don't think their own. They can't do well during exams even though they practise tons.
Easy to understand topics: Straight line, coordinates geometry, simultaneous, remainder and factor theorem, partial fractions, alpha & beta.
Start on easy topics, get the confidence. Both on to harder topics.
10 or 11 marks for a maths full question is normal
the key is...... can u get them all?
