STOMPer SN spotted Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew at
Bishan Circle Line station. He appeared to be observing the situation at
the station, where there have been commuter jams recently.
Just a few days after the new section of the Circle Line opened on Oct 8, massive crowds filled the Bishan Circle Line station. Thankfully the situation has eased, said STOMPer SN.
The Transport Minister has been previously spotted on public transport by STOMPers on a number of occasions.
Wrote the STOMPer (Oct 19):
"I saw the Transport Minister today on the CCL at Bishan at 8.10am.
"It looked like he was here to check out the situation at Bishan.
"It's certainly much improved from the first day the CCL opened!"

he should take public transport to work and home everyday in order to understand the jam and congestion we face everyday.
Fwah~~~ Eye power works~~~
someone go find and edit the photo~~~
what's the point?
he took the trains and the trains are still breaking down, there are still delays and non-peak periods are packed like sardines anyway nevermind peak periods...
why we cannot use eye power for our NS too.. knn...
Stomper also like angkat bola sia~

I agree with you in thinking what's the point of this exercise.
In the end, they will still adopt the grow at all costs model by increasing the population every year.
It looks as though they are trying to figure out how the system can take in more passengers than trying to alleviate the current problems.
To me.....his outshape seems different from the background contrast...My Personal Opinon only...could this picture be photoshoped?....I guess each and everyone of us who saw this picture can make your own conclusion...I hope my personal opinon is wrong...if not, this could lead to a messy repercussion with this picture.

Hey, don't be so bad to wish for him to experience what the average Singaporean is facing every day.
aiya
The CCL planning is epic failure. Too many stations and its all impulse loading

Stomper could be a reporter sent to follow the minister around.
Only report the good stuff.
I dunno what the morning peak hour traffic is like for bishan circle line station, but the evening peak hour traffic was just disgusting. I had to wait 3 trains before I could just squeeze on board. Its been a week since I last took it, so I pray its better than that day.

3 is about the norm.
EW line is about the same.
He was there for show, zi dao zi yan!
Did anyone there question him on the justification on the rise in fare despite the fact that every now and then the transport MRT is giving problems to the public?

We need to increase fares so that they will have the money to fix all the problems.
Really.
what good ideas can he think of?
he will be just the same as other past transport minister lar. same old ministry and policies, just new minister.
dun tell me he wants to impose ERP on mrt and bus travellers lol.
for a minister to witness and observe is already sufficient evidence of due diligence than just using Management By Phone (or MBP)....hope other ministers do the same...
lets be fair to individual KPIs ....anyway, that does not mean traveling up and down but not coming forth with real solutions to resolve technical issues as well as the overall improvement in the lives of the public....

I am sure they are working on it.
what he should do is this. ask for public consultations on how to solve jams and congestions during peak period, read and then think of ways ie brainstorming.
one of the causes is immigration, causes the small tiny island to be overcrowded how to stop the flow of immigrants coming to spore, its not his call anyway.

more flyover u mean and more ERP
he should tell SMRT and SBS, to convert to double decker trains and bus. u carry more passenger load this way isnt it. there u go, all MRT and buses that have double deck

Fantastic idea.
Now they just need to spend another $100 billion dollars to make the tunnels bigger and the MRT carriages double decked.
After EDMW reported that trains started to have faults because minister stopped taking train, news have surfaced that Transport Minister Lui have been spotted at the recent Bishan Jam.
Does it mean our trains will be working fine now?
Dear Transport Minister:
If you feel that I'm being cynical, then please go forth and prove my cynicism wrong.
Who's idea to make CCL train's 3 carriage? now roll your head.
