TRANSPORT Minister Lui Tuck Yew was spotted taking the train during the morning rush hour on Monday, according to photos sent in by a contributor to citizen-journalism website Stomp.
This is the second time he was spotted on public transport. On May 25, Mr Lui was photographed in a public bus, sparking questions as to whether he was testing the transport system, or if it was staged.
The reader who contributed the photos to Stomp said: "I snapped pictures of him on the train this morning at 7.45am, on the North South line heading towards Jurong East at Bukit Gombak.
"Welcome to the crowd!"
From the photos sent in, Minister Lui had to stand as the train appeared somewhat crowded.
Judging from the position of the hand rails, he was quite close to the MRT train doors.
The Minister was also seen holding a copy of a newspaper (My Paper), he was photographed not reading it and it looked like he was more intent on observing the surroudings and train stops.

.
Just afew trips a year hardly qualifies as experience.
Try it everyday for the next 10-20 years.
Wayang
But honestly, at least he got try
He advertising for the newspaper is it?
All pictures of him show him holding a newspaper.
Oh yeah, he used to be MICA.
Looks like for publicity's sake.
If people were taking pics of him for Stomp, he would be telling them to stop.
Unless he wanted the publicity.
He should have wore dak sunglasses with a cap if he really wanted to do undercover work on the public transport system.
Actually, I saw him last Friday at Dhoby Ghaut.
I am quite sure it was him, but could be mistaken as well.
Anyway, he has that "no so happy" taking the train face. Frowning foreheads and tense body language, carrying a briefcase and walking towards an empty space to board the train.
Somehow, it just feels that he has been "arrowed" to take public transport.
Orders by PM to raise public opinion perhaps?
wait till he kenna noisy PRC talking on phones or some other FT with OVERPOWERING Body Odour who likes to raise their hands...
why only he takes trains, how about the others?

that one, if cannot afford public housing, he might tell you to go to JB and live
and he was indulging in one of the things i hate MRT people doing.. reading the damned newspapers while riding.. the newspapers just end up in the ear or taking up space and bothering other people standing around the guy

will i see (or rather, squeeze) him at 6pm cityhall later?
The trains are usually packed all times of the day from first train all the way to the last train.
No seats available for first train, no seats available for last train.
Sometimes, you wonder where all the people come from or where they are going at the different times of the day.
i love to see him taking mrt everyday
not 1 or 2 days - wayang wayang
also how to lower transport fares
