Train Enthusiasts, Train Fans, and other users,
Please refrain from taking photos and videos of trains for now due to the 2010 Moscow Metro bombings. So if you get caught, you may not be let off easily like all other times. You may even be arrested immidiately.
If you still want to take photos and videos of trains, take them at your own risk (as per normal, but it's more risky now).
The train photos and videos thread will still be open, so you can continue to post your pictures and videos of trains there.
PS: It's totally safe to take pictures and videos during the CCL Discovery and its premises.
Thank you

Then when can we safely take pics and vids of trains again?
What i can suggest,
dun take vids in stationn..
Try to take vids outside station or elevated tracks from ground
Well, it seems like i have taken the risk to take more photos of trains...
However, I feel that we can take out our article and show it to the staff, highlighting that SMRT is delighted that some commuters are actually so interested in trains.....
(P.S this only applies to willis_chong, jcqh, LTnF1fan, SBS8888D, smrt3099, Bus and Train LoVuR, wenjie639)

At your own risk. Just don't push the blame around again. (You know who you are...)
Ok, I tell you all what. This is the thing if you are going to take the train video. Other than what Willis has said, it also means that you will be taken into immediate suspect if anything happens, and they will also be more strict. You can try to ask the station master and all that, but if they ask for your address and all that, means you will also become the prime suspect. Even if they do not ask for it, the police could have their way of tracking you.
If you get caught, remember this:
Chapter 263A
Rapid Transit Systems Act
Part VI
(MISCELLANEOUS)
Powers of arrest
40. —(1) A police officer, or any employee of the Authority generally or specially authorised in writing by the Chief Executive of the Authority, may arrest without warrant any person found committing or whom he has reason to believe has committed an offence punishable under this Act.

But then, photography isn't under the RTS rules and regulations.
ok noted, seldom or should I say super rarely I snap pics of trains..
but buses should still be able to rite..

This is why I believe that the staff also got problem on whether should they allow or deny your gentle request of photography / videography since it has nothing to do with them, seriously. Dont put them into difficult position --- Either snap without being notice or dont do it at all.

I agree with the quoted statement. Nowdays I only take videos/photos when I feel like it or when there's exclusive stuff.

There is really no black and white about the photography rule, but my advise is ONLY take when there is no MRT Staff or MRT Police. As long as you don't get caught is ok, but thats your own rule to safeguard yourself.
But, take a look at it this way. You are taking photo at a place where the staffs are in-charge, so you have to follow what they say. Metaphorically speaking, if you go to people house, you'd listen to your friend about where to go, what to do etc.. Same goes to the station.. You are their place, you play by their rules.
Nontheless, please ask the Station Manager on duty, BEFORE, doing any photo-taking at the stations, just to be on the safe side.
This ban of phototaking and filming article concerns about terrorism ONLY, in which this category has been banned in many metro systems in the world. And also London Underground Film Office which banned some categories. In Singapore; MRT staff reserves the right not to take photos under this categories: Smoking, vandalism, terrorism and some serious offences in Singapore MRT.

But as I stated on top, either they do it all the way that hurt your pride (The train fan's pride or confidence etc), that says a big NO, and that IS their safe side, or they allow you (The train fan's request) BUT, they are risking themselves either. This makes you feel good, not only on request granted side, but you think that you have ask already, feel no guilty or "I can answer to my heart already" (é—®å¿ƒæ— æ„§), but the back other side of the story that the station manager will say is another question, which is something that many people do not understand, resulted in earlier flamewar. Today for my BVE development got some subsential progress, so I will reply in a happy mood.

BTW, is it possible for CCLD go KCD? (They may not want BSD becoz of no relevancy to CCL)

Hahaha. Be sure to meet us! ;)
What the fuck is a certain someone's attitude with respect to SMRT's owned land?
You think they care about your feelings, even if they give a half-hearted yes, or they reject you straightout?
They don't farking care about you, so why do you even farking care so much?!
Listening to this person's posts for damn long makes ME DAMN PISSED. Akin to a troll, seriously.
And I'm in Europe... This is farking spoiling my mood for my vacation.

Yes, that is adult, but some of the train fans are minors that no more than secondary kids. So adults may treat them differently? Now get out of my elite uncaring face before I flamed and even if I flamed previously, I dont use such word as of yet.
And you are right, since they dont care, I also dun give a care as well, dont ask and shoot. Simple, they are not SMRT shareholder as well, so they dont own it. And you are also spoiling my mood.

Based on past experience, CCLD won't bring you to KCD, unless there is a change this year. Haha, but I doubt so.
The KCD Open House was opened to all SMRT Staffs & Families..So we took a train from Bishan to KCD. Also got a tourguide that brought us all around the depot, including the OCC.
