People of Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio, Sengkang, Hougang and Jurong!
Let us discuss about the new Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange!
The Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange received its TOP (Temporary Occupation Permit) on 3 November 2015.
Changes to traffic at Woodlands Square and Woodlands Avenue 3 took place on 18 December 2015, "as part of preparation works for the Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange".
1. The existing zebra crossing across Woodlands Square will be removed.
2. The existing taxi stand and passenger pick-up/drop-off point at Woodlands MRT station, near Woodlands Avenue 3 will cease operations. Commuters may head to the taxi stand and passenger pick-up/drop-off point located at Woodlands Square or near Woodlands Xchange.
Please refer to the attached map for more details.
Directional and information signs will be displayed prominently in advance to inform motorists of the diversion. Motorists are advised to drive carefully and follow the directional signs displayed.
It looks like the Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange will open soon.

Let us revive the style of SGforums, where we have a thread dedicated for a particular bus interchange/terminal/depot. In future, only create a thread for a bus interchange when it is about to open.

Hi. Is it true that the purpose of having this temporary bus interchange is because the future thomson line station is planned below the station and the paid-link connection is somehow going to cut through the bus interchange?
Meanwhile, is the other purpose to take this opportunity to replace the old equipment and make the bus interchange more comfortable?
This is because the current Int will be converted to an ITH by 2019 around the same time as the TEL.Will surely miss this interchange I rode since TIBS days
Woodlands interchange was initially located at the old town centre which is next to the checkpoint (the shelter had been since demolished leaving behind the bus park).
It was the Woodlands line MRT extension in early 1996 that made the bus interchange relocated o the current location.

I wouldn't mind engaging in civil discussion, so long as the dude makes ordinary and non-disruptive posts on his original one account.
But I wouldn't trust his words anymore on anything pertaining to his studies, seeing as to how he had literally went against his declaration / promise (in the Joo Koon Int thread) on 4th November.
Ok, enough going off-topic.

just stop replying to any of his threads so as to not encourage this behavior anymore!
Mods, please lock.
imagine...
you want to discuss on one bus interchange, then all of a sudden some one else keep bombard the thread with other bus interchanges. in the end, there is never really a discussion about the bus interchange you want to discuss.
please understand that this has an impact on the quality of discussions on SGforums bus forum, and the attractiveness of the forum.
Let the moderators decide if this thread is redundant when the parent thread is not filling up fast.

Nope, it's the forum users who should decide, not the forum moderators. Because it is the forum users who participate in the forum. The forum moderators are only here to maintain law and order.
If all forum users only want the numbers, at the expense of the quality, by all means.
I am out.
Guys, I am sorry for intruding into this thread.
You guys can continue responding to this troll.
Mods, ignore what I had said about locking.

Am going to use this thread even though there's negativity above.
It's going to be opened in March 2016, or to be more precise 12 March 2016 I think.
Annex C, Paragraph 3
SMRT partnered with NEC Asia Pacific to develop and deploy passenger information systems to help commuters at bus interchanges navigate around the interchange and nearby amenities, and get access to estimated bus arrival timing. All these seek to enhance the commuter’s travel experience. The collaboration resulted in a touchactivated panel that is attractive, commuter-centric and user-friendly because of its use in four languages (English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil). In the interactive panel, real time information on both bus and train departure timings, bus service information (routes, fares and estimated travelling time), maps and journey planner are provided. The Interactive Panels have also been programmed with a customer interface for commuters to share feedback on their journeys, or even recommendations for service improvements. SMRT has regularly updated the hardware and software of these interactive panels since it was first introduced in 2014. The fourth and latest version will be launched at the new Woodlands Temporary Interchange in March 2016.

There is finally news about the refurbishment of Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange!
As this is the first of its kind, I sincerely hope that we can use this thread, instead of combining it with the main thread.
Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange to be Upgraded Temporary Relocation from 12 March 2016
The Land Transport Authority will refurbish the Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange and build an underpass linking the upgraded bus interchange with the North-South Line (NSL) Woodlands station and the future Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) Woodlands station. When the underpass is completed in 2019, commuters will be able to conveniently transfer between the rail and bus networks. The upgraded Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange will also be equipped with more commuter-centric and barrier-free facilities to serve residents, including enhanced amenities for bus captains.
