The Merc rover is for recce !!! It is damn good.
I frankly at first did not think much of it - till i have a change to go on exercise on it.
I totally appreciate it when it handle some area which other vehicle would have got struck. The advantage is when it does get struck, it is light enough for the team to push it or lift it up to get it out. ... which other jeep would be too heavy.
Think the Fiat 3 -tonner was the worst buy !!! No power, no air-cond , noisy, cannot carry much ........ sound so stress even when empty, cannot go where 5-ton, unimorg, or 7-ton can go ......., go at 60/km the whole thing seem want to fall apart. Even the old merc 3-tonner it replace out perform it in every way.
