  motorola is good but the external storage is not the standard mmc slot, thus it may be expensive when upgrading the external storage.
  
  nokia 6230 is more ideal. if it can support 512 mb mmc then u won't need a mp3 player anymore.

  also, if the phone obsolete liao can get a mmc card reader and use the mmc as external storage for PC.

  but the thing about techno devices is that the moment u buy them they would have depreciated.
  
  so to me the oni "protect your investment" is to treat ur device with TLC.. and hope it lasts long... at least till ur next "investment"

  i got my own small portable MP3 player....coupled with my GP 2100
  rechargeable batteries, i enjoyed mp3s forgeting when was the last time i paid for spare batteries and when was the last time i changed my batteries.
