without adoubt, first impressions count....
so what isit that u look at during the 1st meeting???
Especially at a friend's party..or a gathering....
well, for me, no matter wat the girls wear really doesn't bother me....its a bonus if its a chio bi...so looks is all that counts...OF COZ NOT!....then its the way she speaks after that...some act ice queen...then some act cute....well...my first impression will come from a distance....
for guys, personally to me, it doesn't really matter...except maybe for fashion sense...

i dun think first impressions are SOUGHT..
they just come, like it or not. unless u go out and close ur eyes and ears..? ehhee and even maybe ur nose? (pheromones are deadly!!)
but yes.. certain antics and body language do attract me. nowadays hardly liow tho, i've seen enuff. will take alot to get me going gugugaga over a girl in the first meeting. -
1st impressions suck...
when i was in uni, the first time half the damned hostel went out for a night out, a bunch of us got gloriously drunk and were carried out of the pub after one of us (my roommate the next year) stood up and did a helicopter projectile spew... and the bartender had enough of us and threw us out...
until the day i left, we were "the mad mob of winos"
that aside, 1st impressions... some try too hard to impress and it shows... giving people a bad impression of them... it's a silly paradox huh?

first impressions can be a headache, a friend once told me her observation that if a person talks alot, other people would consider him/her trying too hard or acting cute, or if that person keeps quiet, other people would think that he/she is dao or acting cool..

so....i think being yourself is important....but its hard sometimes especially when u are attracted to someone and u start making irregular actions or start to over enphacise certain accends or words.....or become overly quiet.........hee hee...i think u become the person u want to be when u want to make a good impression, but u are definitely not. I think first impressions do count, whether you like it or not. And even though a lot of people say "Don't judge a book by its cover", I think looks play a major role in first impressions. It all comes together with the way you carry yourself, the way you dress and the way you talk. Like they say, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Tough luck, especially when you're going for job interviews!!
A lot of people say that when they first meet me, they get the impression that I'm kinda like a b|tch cos I talk too much and I'm really loud lol. But once they get to know me, they'll realise that I'm just really outgoing and simply CRAZY haha.. cos I'm the kind of person that can talk to ANYONE lol. Plus I have a weird sense of humour so some are not used to it.

like what many of you have said, first impressions are inevitable, but it is also important to portray your real self. many make the mistake of trying to be someone they're not, so as to be accepted, or so that they can give the "right" impression to others. but i think, in the end, this fallacy will just fall through, so if you can help it, just be yourself. and if people don't like you, then that's really just too bad, cos i'm sure everyone has something beautiful in them, as cliched as that may sound.
