even when I was dating years ago ( when i was like 17 ), take out my gf for a nice meal at a decent place would cost at least $50 ( i cant remember the name of the restraunt but it was Mexican, near Hilton Orchard rd )
If the purpose is to just eat ..then any food court can do.. but to impress u gotta spend some $$$$

So if you have no budget...like I suggested.. why not cook her a meal... quite impressive for a guy to cook

Then most of the steamboat food like fishballs etc are only average, nothing special. I don really eat shellfood, (lazy to de-shell), but my friends who ate that day said its not that fresh.
The experience is cool though....for the price, and the meal, its ok la. Basically abit poorer than what u get at hawker Yong Tao Foo standards, but with more variety, the "live prawn", shellfood (crabs, etc.), and some cooked food (like those curry rice shops).
Oh yea only the food is free flow, drinks are on sale. So if u sit there be prepared to pay more than the $12.
Hope that helped. If you really want to know i suggest you go try it out, it might be to your liking. -
