No, I actually use a Nescafe size Bottom for my Bettas. No water plants or coloured rocks as it will be too cramp for the Bettas.
I planned to get the Pure White Coloured(with purple spots on it) Bettas from Arising Aquarium next month.... -

he's gonna ORD so he started this shop...

bettas can range from $1 to few hundreds $$. i remember last year there was 1 competetion held at EXPO.( cannot remember the place) there was this man who bought his betta for$2 and guess wad, he eventually win the grand price.
i keep bettas to fight. call it a bit " CHAN REN " but as long u dun kill them is alright. if u all want to choose good fighting fish, i can give some advise. well i think UBI got 1 betta dunno wad shop 1. its the name of the shop. my fren say the fish there not that bad. but expensive.
erm... i know where to get good fighting fish for fighting. at kallang baru.
my fren breed bettas (a few fren, some for fun) my fren got over population in his house liao... wanted to give me but me myself too much also. another 1 breed a completly white betta. i dunno nice or not... never see it before.
if u are willing to wait, i know of nee ann poly when they got open house or wad, they usually bring out their specially breed fish for sales. my sis is from that school so that time she told me a green 1 very nice for just $5. worth it ! can try out. but must wait -

In fact, I have seen one purple coloured Bettas priced at $8 but its fins are worth more than this price -- as good or even better than the $10 Betta I bought at AMK Blk 409 Wet Market.
There is a Shop in Sernagoon North (famous for "Home of the Pet" as there are many pets shops around that areas) selling a RED HOT Bettas / BLACK Bettas (crown tails) for $50++ damn expensive.
This guy (maybe your friend) is politely when I asked questions on the problems I faced when breeding Bettas and he is willing to give me his advices.

I have 8 Bettas
6 males (4 costing $1 each, 1 cost $10 & the other one $15 - bought at Arising Aquarium)
2 Females ($1 each).
I am planning to mate the Bettas but the males seem to be hostile to the 2 females. Any way to mate them?
