Where to buy beautiful Bettas/Fighting fish?

I knew of one outlets in Serangoon North but their Bettas are very expensive! Any ideas?

u wan bettas for fighting or for show ? or just to show off their beautiful colour ?? if u wan it for fighting, got some tips. as for u wan beautiful ? how beautiful is ur beautiful ? those $50+ 1 ?

rainbow fish are specially breed 1... they add some kind of chemical to their fish. if u will to suay suay to buy 1 fish that onli can suit their water, ur fish will slowly die... (exprience before)Originally posted by kohanson:Rainbow -

which experienced torn Fins.
The uncle at Ang Mo Kio told me
1. NEVER change the water with FRESH WATER RIGHT FROM THE TAP, alway used OVERNIGHT water.
2. I used Anti-Chlorine + OVERNIGHT Water for my Bettas
My $10 Betta's colours are: the forehead is Black, followed by purple body, the tail fins is also purple + Red. the 2 fins under the gills are Red in colour,
I am looking for a pure RED Bettas from that Ang Mo Kio shop again.
Shall we start a thread on Keeping Bettas here? All Comments are welcome. -

I have one betta which passed away liao. Out of a sudden it always go near to the surface of the water for air, give it red worms, show " no interest" at all. I observed the colour of the Bettas started to fade from dark purple to pale purple. I only add those yellow/black water medicine to it and not long after, it just dies off!!!!
Does anyone here knows what causes this? -

I kep 2 female Bettas but the male Bettas are still fierce with them. I don't dare to put the 2 together or else the female Bettas will kena killed by the male. -

To all Bettas collectors, keep posing your comments about Bettas, How to mate them etc.

If you don't mind, could you tell us how you actually know how Rainbow breed their fishes? Do you work there?
Or are you just speculating about the quality of their products (fishes)? -

Analysis
When your fish keeps going to the surface for air, this usually means that it is being affected by gill disease. When a fish gets affected by gill disease, it is unable to gather oxygen from the water, which explains why it has to keep going to the surface for air.
Unecessary Action
When you add yellow/blackwater to the water, it only makes the water 'softer', and does not help solve gill disease. In Singapore, yellow/blackwater is pretty much unecessary because Singapore's water is already 'soft' enough.
Solution
What you should have done is:
- Don't change water
- Put one/two drops of PP Medicine (Potassium Permaganate, or otherwise known as a medicine for gill disease) daily *edit: available at Rainbow and probably other aquarium shops
- Change 10% of water daily
- Keep doing the above until the fish's condition gets better
Hope this helps if your other fishes have the same problem again![/b] -

bettas? erm...what lai de?? anyone know whats the life span of the fighting fish?? n how to breed it? neeed big tank fliter oxygen tank??? water plant?? stone?
