Number 10 Kirk Hammet (Metallica)
( a better guitarist than hetfield and he is very influential to metal guitarists)
Number 9 Gary Moore (Thin Lizzy)
( dun listen much to his songs but nice stuff )
Number 8 Slash (Snakepit, ex GNR)
( one helluva guitarist.. like him a lot man.. revolutionised rock music)
Number 7 Eddie Van Halen ( Van Halen)
( this guy also best! he more known of his personality ah )
Number 6 Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
(woohoo !!! Megadeth always remain as one of the best metal bands i ever known)
Number 5 Joe Perry (Aerosmith)
(great guy froma great band.. he and steve tyler really good combo)
Number 4 Yngwie Malmsteen (Rising Force)
( God of neo classical music!!! hail yngwie.. damn great licking! in guitar la..)
Number 3 Joe Satriani
(coming to singapore on april...watch Satch.... he one damn good guitarist)
Number 2 Steve Vai
(friend of satriani and a very good guitarist also)
and Number One~~~~!!!!~~~~~
Marty Friedman ( ex Megadeth and Cacophony with Jason Becker!) - Cacophony is one damn good band!!! go dl and listen
( Friedman is my choice of guitar god.. he is nice, and skilful!)

this type of list very controvertial...
even guitar mags try to do the same thing and ppl will write in to challenge the choices...
personally i think, for them to reach a level where people respect them for their work... is proof enough of their ability.

not really rock guitarist~~ strictly rock guitarrist issit? his style quite fusion i suppose.. talk about speed and tone..it's not how his guitar sounds... rather how tight and how he accents the band.

blues man.. respect ah.. plays 13s on his strat.. and his tone and technique .... should hear him play slide

7 - Eric Johnson: Tone king!!
6 - Vinnie Moore: His melody is unbelievable....with speed and feel...
5 - Paul Gilbert: I love his wacky ways of playing...his harmonic pinch is shiok!!
4 - Greg Howe: I just liked his speed...
3 - Nuno Bettencourt: He taps the guitar as if the fingers have eyes on it...
2 - Jason Becker: I am a cacophony fan...this guy here rocks!!!
1 - Marty Friedman: I am a cacophony and a megadeth fan...haha MARTY RULES!!!

By the way just feel strange that Vai ranks on top of satriani. cos the latter is supposed to have taught vai.. case of green comes out of blue and exceeds blue.. -
its true satch taught vai before...not really teach lah brother...its like mixing skills and giving him the experience...but i think u never seen they play together before..u can see the difference... vai is better in a way...of course satriani is good... but if u look at the technique vai is a little more unique...i still respect both players...Originally posted by Ecxentrique:My personal fave:
