Have not been to NEX either, but I definitely need not drive there.
And if I need to, I'll park at one of the parking lots at the nearby housing estates instead. -

This im not so sure. News reported that people who are driving need to make a 90 degree turn in the carpark to turn into another corner.

When vivocity first opened, also got so many teething problems and people didn't like it. Aircon too cold lar, place too big lar, confusing signages ar. Eventually people also accept it.
You can kpkb how fcuked up NEX is now all you want, eventually its only a matter of time.

No, nothing wrong with the size of individual parking lots. They are generous enough. The overall layout and design is dubious at best.

they'll improve eventually. but for escalator design, what is done it's done. cannot edit le, other than that, other things could be improved

the escalator is like tt is to force u to walk thru the row of shops
im not sure if it's on purposes but they mix F&B and retail in each level
i was thinking tt the F&B shd be together in one section or level or own cluster
but it may be bcos of the bidding of the space
quite weird to be smelling food from next door while u are trying on clothes -

Went to a F&B shop in NEX called Qi Ji, is on Fairprice Xtra level. Sell Nasi Lemak de, The place so small, cant fit enough tables and chairs, alot of us who are hungry ended up wait outside the shop when the shop is full. And the Shops are also wrongly shaped and escalators wrongly placed.

around there got alotta small stalls selling snacks and finger food -

Yea. it's small. the shops are small and the walkway too. well, i think it's a new concept.
if all f&b are squeezed into one corner it looks intresting but if they are all around inbetween the fashion shops, it's kinda new -

Kovan heartland mall also have qi ji, why must go to NEX one? Hougang mall, I think also has one. Fark, almost every mrt station along NEL has a qi ji.

Normally I go shopping mall to buy things, not look for an ATM to draw money.

malls are part of REITs...and they are strategically designed as such...where u r forced to walk through the shops to get up or down or even to the toilets...

I wanted to go last night, but since I am driving a truck, and there was a queue along the junction of serangoon and serangoon central, so never mind, I went kovan to have dinner instead.

it's for "Temporary" only. Because the new Nex mall is new. people are curious.

TS you seem very biased against nex leh. so you working for JP or something ?
doesn't make sense comparing both malls. one is in northeast, the other is in the west. miles apart. personally i live in the east, and i would visit nex more than JP, even tho it may hv areas of improvement which i am sure JP and for that matter most malls have too. JP has been open since 1995 but i hv been there only once, despite the "fantastic" features you aggressively promoted. it aint matter to me, really, because malls are commodities these days.

I knew this topic will come up. :) I lived in the West side too.
Okay~ I went to Nex on Sunday. It layout is very messy, walkway is very small, non-standardized flooring material.
Sometimes walk till certain parts will get very crowded until people step my toes. At some areas is very spacious very little people.
The lighting at dunno where.. wah.. damn bright! See liao giddy~ so many light balls lah! very irritating and does not provide so much light.
The shops layout is damn funny~ At first when I enter the shopping centre, I thought it's good~ food place organized... as I walk into the centre... it's all messy one lah! You can find food almost anywhere~ food mix with clothing shops etc. Lousy layout. Grrr
Sitting place is not enough --> standard problem for all shopping centre.
Not very organised.
It gives me the feeling of..... two different shopping centre merge together. Low class + high class.
Anyway, the variety of merchants over there is good. ANything also got. :)
