Murder case usually is death penalty.
As for the unfair part... the judge usually will give a statement about why he judge like that.... the guy terrorize 9 underaged girls... i think it's most unfair to them bah.

did he terrorize all 9 before his arrest? if so, he should be given a sentence and treatment.

no idea. maybe he was sentenced for each count seperately. 3 years for that one, 4 years for this one.... add up to 32.
Don't think the law work as buy one get 1 free, or get some discount because you are already sentence for similar case. For example terrorize a girl get 1 year, molest another girl, you get 50% off and get 1.5 years total instead. Think will get a bonus and serve 3 years in total instead.

More consideration should be given to the young defenceless victims (and would be victims) who have to live with such unforgetable experience for the rest of their lives, than for these scums.
I say let them rot in prison.

I also read in some news. rapist not even 32 years. This is far too long. This is not even a repeat offence. true, there shd be punishment but isnt it a little too long?

very sad...32 years is a very very long time.. Poly education gone..career gone...God knows how Singapore will be in 32 years time..Hope he gets mitigated and have his sentence reduced..The strokes are just but the sentence is abit overboard..Not so if he's a repeat offender but sometimes, it's the emotional distress that he may be facing..Maybe he loves that girl terribly but the love not reciprocated..Sure i feel for his victims but who feels for him? It's a sex crime and not many companies allow sex offenders in their payroll let alone someone in his fifties when he is released finally.

then y not u sentence all molest criminal to death sentence. then no more rapist.
not all ppl will go and calculate they will spend how many years in jail before they decide whether they should commit crime!!

I think the key point is that he did it 9 times.
if he gets a sentence similar to some guy who did it once or twice, not too fair too...
How many years should some guy who did it 9 times get? Should he get a discount because of economy of scale, as in commit crime in bulk?

Huang’s father, who was seated in the public gallery, was clearly devastated as he bowed his head and tried hard to stifle his emotions.
Meanwhile, Huang, who was in the dock, stared blankly into space.
The harshness of his sentence hasn’t sunken in as yet, it seems.
Perhaps Huang never thought he would end up behind bars.
The Temasek Polytechnic graduate was a brilliant student who topped his class several times.
According to his lawyer Mr Chia Kok Seng, Huang had won several scholarships when he was studying and people who knew him described him as a “responsible” and “well-brought up boy”.
When he was enlisted into the army, Huang’s leadership qualities and sheer diligence saw him rising through the ranks.
He became the second in command in his section as a regimental policeman.
But behind the rising star was a tortured soul.
The court heard that Huang’s troubles started at the age of 17.
His parents had disapproved of his then girlfriend and gave him the cold shoulder.
Later on, Huang found out that his girlfriend was unfaithful and was dumped by her.
In his mitigation, Mr Chia said his client got so depressed that he attempted suicide by slashing his wrists.
A psychiatric report stated that the depressed Huang was suffering from chronic adjustment disorder.
But the prosecution pointed out that everyone gets depressed at some time and this didn’t warrant a crime spree.
The prosecution added that the mental report stated that Huang knew what he was doing at the time of the offences.
In urging for a severe sentence, the prosecution told the court that the accused had planned his offences and preyed on multiple young victims.
What made it worse was the fact that Huang had used a pen knife to pressure five of his nine victims into submission.
In asking the judge to show some mercy, Mr Chia said that his client is remorseful and understands the gravity of his crimes.
He explained that the trauma of Huang’s failed relationship coupled with the stress of his stormy family ties led to his downfall.
But this argument clearly didn’t cut any ice with Justice Chan Seng Onn, who noted that Huang had systematically and deliberately targeted young victims.
He added that the sentence given has to deter Huang from re-offending and also reflect the gravity of his acts.
When asked by the media if they would appeal, Mr Chia said it depends on Huang’s wishes.

Whoever wishes to plead on his behalf and glorify his "promising future" better go and surrender your gfs, wives, and daughters to be victimised by him and then you can go ahead and extend your sympathy towards him and forgive him.
People like this don't deserve to have a second chance and I hope he go and hang himself in prison.

32 years really a very long time,imagine a baby born now,32 years old,+ the suffering of the 24 strokes[i think the backside got nothing left after it],i think he hanged himself better.....!
