Laptop help : Acer how good?

I saw a pretyy okay acer laptop for S$3K at sim lim. does anybody here ahve any good/bad experiene with acer. the sound was badd but hte config was great. compaq has a similar one..buti heard.compaq notebooks are pretty bug-filled..
any suggestions?

Depend on wat u go for...
FYI: Toshiba (overall functions are damn good) laptop is the best whereas other brands like Acer (appearance nice, functions so-so), Fujisu (weight = light, size = very small, function so-so), Compaq (sound-system quite good, functions so-so) all are average lor.
Ya, one more thing. Don't buy Dell laptop, it sux big time... -
