Italy
Don’t keep your hands in your lap, but also don’t rest your elbows on the table.
Do hold your fork in your left hand and knife in the right.
Portugal
Don’t ask for salt or pepper. It’s offense to a chef’s seasonings skills.
Do leave a tip. Around 10% is common.
France
Don’t split the bill. Offer to pay the bill in its entirety or someone else will.
