Here's one SG50 deal that isn't happening this weekend.
The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) has debunked an online rumour regarding fast food chain Subway.
The council intervened after a fake screenshot showing a tweet from the official @halalSG Twitter account declaring that "Subway in Singapore will be Halal for this weekend" began circulating online.
The screenshot is believed to have been photoshopped.
The @halalSG Twitter account handles queries on halal food certification.
A post on Muis' Facebook page read: "A screenshot informing members of the public that Subway is halal for this weekend is inaccurate.
"Kindly note that we have yet to receive any halal applications from Subway."
