SINGAPORE – It’s on.
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has officially accepted a challenge from a group of local food bloggers and SingTel to see if Singapore’s hawker food can match up to the standards of the prestigious Michelin Guide.
The culinary contest will see Ramsay pit his skills against three hawkers, who will be selected through a public poll on the HungryGoWhere website, in a cook-off.
“Frankly, I’m not an expert on Singapore food. I’m not sure it is as good as the Singaporeans actually say it is. Trust me, I’ve got to see this for myself and see what they have to offer,” Ramsay said in a video response (see above).
“One thing I’m certain of is that people like my version better.
“SingTel, I truly accept your challenge. Game on.”
Game on, Gordon.
Let's see how "pro" Gordon can be to make we locals like his local food better.
wait wait... hungrygowhere ???

Public poll tends to lean on those more popular de, might not neccessary be the best...

Because food forums, and websites like to mislead. If you don't want your favourite stall to be crowded when you go, would you recommend it to the world?
I always wonder why people mindlessly gravitate towards the hawker stall with the longest queue.
i will queue if i want to eat that stall. and that stall only.
Pick 3 of 12 hawkers.
I picked my 3.
How did kay lee roast meat make it to that list? Seriously WTF.
cos these ppl bery fwee to participate in the event
the rest too busy with throngs of customers
i chose the 3 i think most difficult for ramhoryisi to cook
I chose my 3 fave comfort foods. And I'm pretty damn sure gordon can't cook it.
Ask him want to eat durian.
i chose prawn prawn chicken
i think ang moh cannot fight with these
Hawker food usually very oily.
Only Mr Ng and abdul malik gets my vote... Though chicken rice might actually pose a problem for Ramsi...
Teck Ghee Square hokkien mee dun even count as top 3 in my hokkien mee list -__-
carrot cake no cheh swa aka toa payoh???
Huai no fatty C? instead got kay lee???
I can nippick alot, or issit only these stalls all got pay money to hungrygowhere, that's why they are selected?
