It's near evening time, I hear the cicadas' mourning screeches intermittently. The shadows of the evening skies looms itself around the roadside pavilion where I am parting with her today. The sudden downpour which had just stopped at least brought forth a gush of fresh air into me. Even though she purposely wanted me to cheer up by setting up a farewell party booth outside the city gates, actually both of us have no mood to drink at all. The boatman called out to us that his boat is gonna leave soon, while we are still reluctant to part with each other. My hands are tightly clutched to hers, and her teary eyes looked deep into mine, with a thousand words yet no sound being able to come out of our throats. The boat will be bringing me southwards to a thousand miles away until I merge with the blurry waters at the horizon, so that you will only end up seeing the endless deep blue sky hovering in front of you.
Passionate lovers has been heartbroken time and again since the immemorial past, moreover, most unbearably that this has to happen to us in this pathetic, sorrowful autumn season. Tonight, when I turn sober, where will I find myself in this awkward loneliness? Well, I might find myself along the shores, under the dim, waning moon hiding behind the drooping willow trees accompanied by gusts of morning cold wind! Without you by my side, whether or not my future is going to be smooth-sailing, I will have no mood to rejoice every year after year of separating from you. Because, without you by my side, my heart's romantic tenderness will have no one to express to!

at first I thought this is some modern 詩 (aka �代詩), looking longer at the 韻腳, think this is done during the period between middle 明 dynasty and early 清 dynasty
reason:
because of all the 韻腳s, “甜” was a giveaway. “甜” only became a "-n" ending word after the time of 周德清's 《ä¸åŽŸéŸ³éŸ»ã€‹ which was å…ƒ dynasty which still kept "-m" finals
Furthermore, other than assimilated “甜”, all the rest of the 韻腳 follows the å±±-rhymes faithfully, with “ç©¿” & “然” still giving an older pronunciation with the 介音 "-i-" or "-y-" which was lost in Modern Beijing Mandarin
Hope this clue from phonology helps to give a glimpse of the rough timeline. And hope I am accurate too. I sincerely dunno who this poem came from, so couldn't give a direct answer.

- This poem, supposedly written to a lady in a lord's palace or a nun in a secluded convent, starts with the line that to meet each other is hard while being parted is harder to bear.
- The word "silk" in Chinese language is a pun which sounds also like the word "longing".
- Blue Bird is the legendary love messenger.

Generally, I had taken brief looks at the following stuffs from the following eras:
1. Pre-Qin - poems from 詩經,離騷's style and possible Chu semantical influences, 春秋 & 戰國 fables
2. Han - i did not concern much / can't recall of at this moment in time (i did not even look at �記 although it is of particular importance / 漢賦 is interesting but did not read much)
3. 3-Countries - did not concern much / only remembers 曹æ“�'s poem "çŸæŒè¡Œ" (did not look at 三國志 although it is of particular importance)
4. Jin - 陶淵明's stuffs
5. North-South dynasties - 駢文 and 宮體詩 and é•·è©© (such as å”雀æ�±å�—飛)
6. Sui - did not concern much / only remembers 駱賓王's poem "�" / as Sui is the transitional period between North-South and T'ang, so i simply browsed through this dynasty under the shadows of the former two
7. T'ang - å”�è©©, paying more attention to 白居易 and æ�Žå•†éš± and å”�è©ž, paying more attention to 溫åºç and 韋莊, as well as 散文s, eg. 韓愈's ç¥é±·éšæ–‡ and 劉禹錫's 陋室銘. Generally I pay more attention to 晚å”� (with exceptions of interest to çŽ‹ç¶ of åˆ�å”�)

Ming - i did not concern much (the main attraction of this dynasty is �典長篇�説s which i skipped in its entirety, of course those which are made into shows were enjoyed by me, eg. 西�記. i paid no attention to 水滸傳 and 金瓶梅 at all.) Neither did any 明詩 nor 明詞 nor 明曲 caught my attention. 散文s of this period also did not catch my attention.
12. Qing - i did not concern much (the main attraction of this dynasty is still å�¤å…¸é•·ç¯‡å°�説s which i skipped in its entirety, including the most famous 紅樓夢 / only took a few looks at 兒女英雄傳 and è�Šé½‹ dat's all). 散文s of this period did not catch my attention except æ¸æœ‰å…‰'s 寒花髒志. Huh? Wat do u mean by i very sentimental? No lar, I can recognize this is chop into half just because this 無題 happen to be one of the poem that I could memorize from head-to-toe (in the past) mah, of course I very familiar lah !
Bangul's explanation is very technical, I like haha. Cos sometimes the words are too qeem or if not, the meaning behind the words are due to a story which we do not know of. Some explanation would be helpful in better appreciating the poem.

of course Tang had seen the greatest flowering of cultural achievements...
there are several poems of those eras that are timeless...u have been an avid reader of chinese poems and that is great!
for me, i am extracting in between the lines of the pasts what are near to our modern or even post modern thoughts... that history is cyclical as well as human nature...
but i am not in favour of too much interpretation..
