With regards to:
01. Tekan = 懲罰。
- What is the appropriate one to use in this context: "I tekan my sis by giving her the most difficult Maths questions to do" ?
02. Kiwi your boots = 擦亮兵鞋。
- Kiwi is the most concise word that I think, till now, because it contains the meanings of both 擦亮 and 擦黑。 We could invent a new term to cover both 擦亮 and 擦黑 by coining “奇å‰”?
03. Keng = æš—ä¸å·æ‡¶ã€‚
- What is the appropriate one to use in this context: "Bangulzai keng MC today" ?
06. Motto = 宗旨。
- In the context of School Motto, how do you feel about å¸æ ¡å®—æ—¨ = "School Motto"? å®—æ—¨ sounds to me like something not of a one-liner but more of a few sentences, how do you think?
07. ISO = 國際標準機構。

08. Margarine = ______

You can go google to find out about.
The Chinese have mandarin words for everything, examples:
McDonald - 麦当劳
Starbucks - å…´å·´å…‹
Giordano - 左塔奴
Honda - 本田
BMW - 马
Nokia - 诺机亚
It's endless.

Yes, google is there, but do we know, remember and apply?
To note that some of the Chinese, Taiwanese Chinese and PRC Chinese have 2 different translations.
一些感如其:
Baby fat - ????
Adam's apple - ????
Ham sup - ???? (他很色。。。。is not chinese)

I did not take note of all. The latest I know is chestnut in Singapore is called ma ti, in Taiwan is other chinese words. That two chinese character is not easily remembered.

17. Shuttle Bus = ______

- 快巴士 sounds fine really. 巴....never heard before haha but never say never. There are many of such terms unique to Chinese in different countries. For eg, in Sg, we say 指甲刀 but in China, they say 指甲剪。
20. Manicure = 指甲è·ç†ã€‚
- Should we make it into Manicure = (手)指甲è·ç† and Pedicure = (è…³)指甲è·ç†ï¼Ÿ
- 那就 手部指甲护 和 脚部指甲护。
I am quite surprised that you use or think that in Sg we use 指甲刀。 This is the first time I heard of that ! My family only use 指甲剪 and this is the only term that I know in my whole life ! And I am true blue Singaporean lor.

I never knew Ham Sup is 猥褻 as I see newspaper use 猥褻的動作 I equate to obscene oni

Yeh it's the closest thing to ham sup lol....any other variations? Sigh....one thing about sgpore is if you say.....他很猥亵, they will give u the "huh" look. Sometimes, use the words too qeem, they also dun understand. So really, here is not the place to improve one's mandarin on a daily basis.
I am really open to accept dialect usage being assimilated into mainstream Chinese Mandarin usage.
This is because, Chinese Mandarin had all along been absorbing large amounts of dialectal usage especially from the Wu dialects and also been absorbing large amounts of calques from Japanese.
Therefore, if 咸溼 (Cantonese: [Haam-11 Sap-5]) is popularly used in Singapore context, it can be absorbed into mainstream Chinese Mandarin and used alongside 猥褻。
So you will say 咸溼 in Mandarin or Canto? Sounds really out of this world if the former.....

I just found this. >> http://baike.baidu.com/view/116654.html?fromTaglist
Oh, have to say xiánshÄ« in Mandarin Chinese lor.
Just like in the past, there wasn't such terms in Mandarin Chinese like eg. åä¸‰é»žï¼Œå°·å°¬ï¼Œæ²™ç™¼ï¼Œç™Ÿä¸‰ï¼Œè » etc.
They were pronounced in the Wu dialects as zeh-se-ti , ke-ka, so-fah, pieh-se, me etc.
Mandarin Chinese took and borrowed the character forms only, and used the corresponding Mandarin Chinese pronunciation shísÄndiÇŽn, gÄn'gà, shÄfa, biÄ“sÄn, mán etc. to read them.
Similarly, in the past, there wasn't such terms in Mandarin Chinese like eg. 時間,新èžï¼Œç³–å°¿ç—…ï¼Œå¦Šå¨ ï¼Œä¿±æ¨‚éƒ¨ etc.
They were pronounced in Japanese as jikan , shimbun , tnyby , ninshin , kurabu etc.
Mandarin Chinese took and borrowed the character forms only, and used the corresponding Mandarin Chinese pronunciation shíjiÄn, xÄ«nwén, tángniàobìng, rènshÄ“n, jùlèbù etc. to read them.
