Is it still neccessary for trains to turnaround at Yishun??

  Hi, care to comment if the turnaround trains at Yishun should continue to run or not?

  Yishun has the necessary facilities to allow a turnaround as yishun last time was once a terminus station in MRT infancy years.

  Well.. Would have to wait till all the 22 new trains has arrived.

  But frankly speaking, they should still keep it because city loading during peak is really very high compare with in the north.

  They purchased 22 trains to 128 for a reason...

  Say 3 for CGA.

  2.5 mins for NSEWL.. That means NSL needs 52, EWL needs 53... Total 105 trains..

  More than enough for full 2.5 mins freq for NSL.

  I'll post train freq for other freq

  2.4 mins: NSL 54, EWL 56... 113 total

  2.3 mins: NSL 56, EWL 58... 117 total

  2.3 mins is the likely optimal freq.

  Actually, 7am to 8am the turnaround at Yishun should still be running with a few trips and not removed instead. Because, with these empty trains it helps to relieve the crowded southbound trains from Jurong East. And also, frequencies beyond Yishun towards Jurong East will not be affected adversely since not alternate trains turnaround at Yishun.
