Easy and fast to dissolve parliament. For all u know that bum already sound it out. Once official will dissolve immediately. This idiot controls everything. Election dept also under it. It is PA's chairman .... and so on ......

Hard to say. Worked last election. My neighbors voted for upgrading. My ex colleagues also voted for upgradi.ng what to do, sgporeans daft.

I'm do not know why are there so many negative comments on the facebook page of Channel News Asia, about retiring MP Alvin Yeo. He is the MP for my area.
Most of the negative comments are that he does not write complete letters for residents, etcetera.
I would like to rebut this, by saying that his capacity as MP is limited.
Infrastructure wise, I have seen a lot of improvements. In year 2013, I feedback to him to request for a new concrete pavement across a dirt road. Within one month, a new concrete pavement was constructed. Following that, several other dirt roads had concrete pavements constructed over them.
Under his leadership, the flats at street 91 finally had Repair and Redecoration (Repainting), after being in that original red-white or yellow colours since they were built in the late 1980s. Nanyang CC was renovated.
Of course, there's new covered walkways, new lifts, ... The usuals.
That's why I really disagree with comments that he is not a good MP. In my opinion, he has tried his best.
but his capacity is limited. for example, the bus connection many of us wanted to Pioneer MRT Station. I understand he has to work with the LTA on this. but MP in transport committee in parliament MP Cedric Foo is just next door (at Pioneer ward)!
but on transport issues, I think the reason why not much is done is because Jurong West is split into so many constituencies.
-Pioneer SMC.
-Hong Kah North SMC.
-Choa Chu Kang GRC.
-West Coast GRC.
and two town could councils. if everything was managed by a single group, perhaps the voice of lobbying would be louder and more effective in asking for bus services.

Hong Kah Town Council is renamed into Chua Chu Kang Town Council when Hong Kah GRC and Chua Chu Kang SMC were regrouped into Chua Chu Kang GRC and Hong Kah North SMC.

Marine Parade GRC was NSP's best district in 2011 (43.35% of votes). It was the non-PAP parties third best performing GRC behind Aljunied and East Coast. They gave up the right to contest in Maraine Parade GRC this election because WP did extremely well in Joo Chiat. However, it seems like some of the Marine Parade and Macpherson people wanted NSP to contest there again and therefore they decided to contest in Macpherson.
NSP has two persons with parliament experience: Steve Chia nd Cheo Chai Chen. It seems that they have chosen Steve Chia to contest against the 6th most-hated PAP MPs ( http://www.theonlinecitizen.com/2015/01/which-pap-mp-would-you-like-to-see-step-down/ ). WP can afford to not have Macpherson since they are likely to win a few seats but NSP needs to win at least one seat in order for the party to have a future ( they have not had a representative in parliament for 9 years already ). Macpherson seems to be easier to take than Pioneer.

But if NSP and WP fight it out in Macpherson, PAP will benefit. Tin Pei Ling might win.

WP indicated before they would give up Macpherson if NSP gives up Marine Parade...so this arrangement is likely to go through.
