National Instruments' GSD Summit 2012 in Southeast Asia opens in Singapore
Premier conference for engineers, scientists and researchers showcases how graphical system design accelerates innovation, discovery and productivity
SINGAPORE, Oct. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- National Instruments' premier conference, Graphical System Design (GSD) Summit 2012, begins its Southeast Asia roadshow in Singapore today. Running in six countries and 11 cities in the region, GSD 2012 demonstrates how graphical system design accelerates innovation, discovery and productivity across industries and research fields.
GSD Summit is an annual professional conference for engineers, scientists, educators, researchers, and technology partners. Last year, the roadshow drew more than 3,000 attendees.
"Graphical system design is increasingly being used in a wide spectrum of industries and research. From automotive to healthcare and robotics to space exploration, engineers are more empowered than ever before to innovate and develop solutions for emerging global challenges," says Chandran Nair, Managing Director in Southeast Asia, National Instruments.
GSD Summit 2012 features the latest technologies in control, design, test & measurement, and automation and deep dives into innovations enabled by the graphical system design platform. In Singapore, demos include applications in machine condition monitoring; energy-related technologies such smart grid, wind tunnel tests, and power consumption monitoring; and research in next-generation mobile network services.
"Southeast Asia is transforming rapidly, with companies and countries here wanting to move up the value chain by creating more local intellectual property and driving productivity. This is an opportune time for Asian innovators to shine," adds Chandran.
Another highlight of GSD Summit 2012 - Singapore is the awarding ceremony for the Graphical System Design Achievement Awards, a global technical application contest for sharing the most innovative graphical system design projects using NI software and hardware. The winners are:
