Award-winning lighting design consultancy will illuminate six projects in Singapore and one in Dubai
SINGAPORE, May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Lighting design consultancy Light Cibles Group announced seven international wins in the first quarter of 2012. The firm was commissioned for six development projects in Singapore: Empress Theatre, Lion City, Robertson Quay, Hotel Sofitel So, Scotts Tower, and Singapore Sports Hub; and re-appointed as consultant for the Dubai International Airport Concourse 4.
"There is increasing demand in Asia and the Middle East for contemporary lighting concepts which regard sustainability, cost-efficiency, and aesthetics as critically important. Light Cibles is pleased to announce having landed major projects in these growth regions," says Emmanuel Clair, Group CEO of Light Cibles.
Clair says spectacular lighting now goes beyond dazzling installations and projections. "Lighting designers have access to innovative lighting technologies and are encouraged to use as much space and natural lighting to achieve timeless impressions that are also eco-compliant."
Regionally headquartered in Singapore, Light Cibles is acclaimed for its expertise in architectural lighting design. Its concept for Resorts World Sentosa has garnered the Singapore Building & Construction Authority's (BCA) Green Mark award. Other notable landmarks lit by the firm include the Cathedral of Notre Dame and Mont Saint-Michel in France; Beirut Central District; and Esplanade Theatre, Fullerton Hotel, and Fullerton Bay Hotel in Singapore. Light Cibles is operating out of key cities Paris, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Tianjin.
According to Clair, the lighting design studies for the Robertson Quay project in Singapore will begin to take shape in August 2012, encompassing the hotel building's restoration and the development of a mixed residential and commercial zone.
Light Cibles will cast a new glow on the hotel's guestrooms, facade, open areas including dining and recreational facilities, as well as develop studies for the planned residential apartment and its surrounding environs.
For Scotts Tower, Light Cibles has presented a stunning concept for the rooftop pool and decks, façade, lobby lounges and terraces, and interiors of the building to developer Far East Organization. Scotts Tower is a high-end residential building designed by famed Dutch architect Ben van Berkel of UNStudio,
Strongly positioning itself as partner for flagship public infrastructure projects, Light Cibles also announced its success in bidding for the lighting of the Singapore Sports Hub's National Stadium dome. The largest and lightest in world of sports accommodation, the Stadium dome is expected to be the center of attention once the Sports Hub is completed in 2014.
Light Cibles supports the creation of spectacular lighting effects on the dome's retractable roof which transform it into a huge screen presentation when there are sporting events.
Dragages Singapore Pte Ltd has appointed Light Cibles in late 2011, following a two-year bidding process. The design studies and implementation are expected to be completed before the end of 2012.
Clair also shared that Light Cibles has been contracted to provide lighting design consultancy services to three other Singapore projects: the Empress Square project, a six-storey entertainment complex by the Eng Wah group; the Lion City Mixed Development, in partnership with SAA Architects; and the Hotel Sofitel So, which will open its doors in 2013.
In the Middle East, Dubai International Airport developer Dar Al-Hadassah re-engaged Light Cibles to illuminate Concourse 4. Construction of this new wing will begin in 2015, and expected to be in operations by 2018. The lighting design studies for the terminal's interiors are expected to be delivered before the end of 2012.
Light Cibles has recently completed lighting design concept and implementation for the Dubai Airport's Concourse 2 and 3.
