Konica Minolta Establishes Regional Head Offices, Sales Subsidiaries and an Office in Asia, Expanding and Strengthening Business Technologies Business
SINGAPORE, April 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica Minolta) is pleased to announce the opening of its regional head offices in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and establishment of sales subsidiaries in Vietnam and Turkey and an office in Thailand, with the aim to scale up and develop its core business technologies business for the Asian region. These initiatives are part of a major sales expansion to provide enhanced marketing and improved customer support in high growth markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

BACKGROUND AND AIM
Konica Minolta was previously distributing its office equipment in Asian region through its local sales subsidiaries and distributors in each country. In light of the rapid market growth in this region, it became essential to strengthen sales activities through delivery of direct marketing, customer support and employee education. By setting up these new head offices, sales subsidiaries and an office in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, Konica Minolta aims to reinforce its sales and support structure to provide speedy and high quality services in response to the local market demand, thereby increasing its presence in the areas.
FUNCTION AND OBJECTIVE OF NEW COMPANIES
"Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia Pte Ltd. (BSA)" in Southeast Asia and "Konica Minolta Business Solutions Middle East FZE" in the Middle East have been established as regional head offices. Their role is to supervise and manage a wide array of functions including sales, logistics, marketing and services to optimize business operations in their respective region.
Additionally, in order to deal with the increase in demand of OPS* in the future, Konica Minolta intensifies its operations to assist sales subsidiaries and distributors for boosting global competitiveness and market share. The new office in Thailand will work as the local base office of BSA and be responsible for conducting market research and business coordination with BSA and local distributors. That will enhance sales structure and boost customer satisfaction in the country.
In Vietnam and Turkey, Konica Minolta will provide high value-added services through its new sales subsidiaries by intensifying the existing distributors' sales network and developing marketing activities that quickly adapt to the local needs and requirements.
