Be The Change Exposition showcases ideas from schoolchildren all over Singapore
SINGAPORE, Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Design for Change School Challenge 2011, organised by SoCh in Action, will be showcasing student projects at the "Be The Change" Exposition 2011 at the*SCAPE Sky Terrace on 12th November 2011 from 9.30am to 1pm. Students aged 9-14 years, from 80 teams across 30 schools in Singapore, will be presenting their initiatives to change the world.
Design for Change (DFC) is a design-based school challenge, which gives young people opportunities to express their own ideas for a better future. The challenge started in India and is now the world's largest movement of social change by children. It reaches to more than 30,000 schools across 35 countries and recently won the Danish INDEX: Design to Improve Life Award 2011, the world's biggest design prize.
The exposition, which is open to the public, aims to promote children's awareness & involvement in various social & environmental issues. This year's theme of "If Your Food Could Talk" hopes to shed some light on issues such as food preparation, procurement, security, and nutrition. There will be workshops, games, and exhibits displayed alongside the student projects to facilitate this learning.
