HONG KONG, Sept. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Newly launched SIP SUNSET GRILL (SSG) is the latest addition to the buzzing Bali restaurant scene. With its doors opening last month in August, it is the second restaurant venture of founder Christian Vanneque who opened SIP WINE BAR in 2008.
SSG's piece de resistance is of course its bottle of Chateau d'Yquem 1811. Purchased by Christian Vanneque on January 18, 2011, it is certified by The Guinness Book of World Records as the most valuable bottle of white wine in the world. The bottle is a focal point of the dining room and is presented in a bullet-proof, temperature and hygrometrically-controlled glass showcase, clasped in a custom-designed bronze hand.
Reminiscent of a cool New York loft atmosphere, the 100-seat dining room is set within brick walls and modern burnt woodwork panels with Havana leather banquettes. SSG's indoor tropical garden, along with a copper-dressed grill provides a theatrical view of a half-open-air kitchen and chefs in action. An intimate 24-seat outdoor dining terrace is favoured for alfresco dining. Guests can also enjoy SSG's 'Late Happy Hour' from 10pm to 1am or a decadent dessert in their 'Barroom'. House DJs ensure that SSG is filled with an evocative selection of 'Oldies' from Thursday to Saturday.
SSG's kitchen, helmed by Patrick Chauchereau and Made Agus Sayoga, offers French-inspired fare with a Southern twist with all main courses ‘Grilled to the Point!' An emphasis is placed on the best value Australian red meats at different cuts. Other noteworthy dishes include non-grilled items: 'Free-flow of Australian Beef Carpaccio' and 'Unfamous Chicken Vol Au Vent'.
General Manager, Eric Guth and his team continue the SIP tradition of impeccable service. Eric brings many years of world-class experience to ensure SSG provides friendly and detailed attention to all guests.
Wine is of paramount importance at SSG. Committed to featuring the best value wine cellar in Indonesia, SSG offers their 'Wine Jukebox' cellar with wines of exceptional quality at equally attractive prices. This 'Wine Jukebox' is said to be an eclectic, balanced, sometimes intriguing and unbiased illustration of some of the best Old World and New World wines in Indonesia.
