Pregnant teen jailed for molest

A TEENAGE mother-to-be who molested a young girl about three years ago was jailed for two years on Thursday.
Probation was not recommended for Siti Aidah Shaharudin who was also found not suitable for reformative training. A Community Court had postponed sentencing pending both reports.
The 19-year-old, who is due to deliver in a few months, had earlier admitted to assaulting the then 16-year-old girl together with her 15-year-old accomplice at a flat in Hougang on Jan 31, 2007 for bad-mouthing them.
They punched, slapped and kicked the victim. Two hours after the beating, Siti molested the girl, who was also slapped and kicked. Siti had ordered her to remove her clothes before assaulting and molesting her.
Siti, who has a third charge of wrongfully confining the victim considered, could have been fined up to $1,000 and/or jailed for up to a year for causing hurt.
For causing hurt to the victim during the outrage of modesty, she could have been jailed for up to 10 years.
