NUS students suffering from an elitist syndrome?

  after working with both sets of students, i would safely say that i would rather hire poly grads anytime.
  
  here's my experience:
  
  Poly Grads - talk less, more fun, get work done with practical solutions
  
  NUS Grads - talk a lot of profound stuff, ask a lot of interesting questions, lotsa of errr..."unique" ideas, work badly done.

  errr....well...the only thing i understood is that who gets work done and who didnt get work done.
  
  i think its alright that i cant understand as long as i earn enough to hire and not work under anyone else

  So nowadays, are poly graduates or university graduates worth more?
  
  Has the degree become just a piece of paper?
  
  Employers out there... Would you rather employ a university or polytechnic graduate? Or rather, what criteria would you look at?

  poly and uni grads have different areas of specialisation
  some courses do have overlap, such as IT and Engineering, but they focus in different aspects
  
  poly syllabus is more on technical side while university is concentrating largely on theory, applications and management
  
  sometimes HR depts DO employ the wrong ppl.....while there are oso cases of "ambiguous" job descriptions in ads......

  Hey i dun noe what field of work you are involved in man,
  
  but u are sure biased to say that poly students work better than nus grads ... becuz there are definitely certain things that poly students are stronger in and some which nus grads would be stronger in ...

  i agree with sgboy.....well if you want to become an engineer, architect or a doctor...etc...you definitely need more than just a diploma.
  
  i am not saying a uni grad is better than a poly grad.....i am a NP grad and now in NUS.....well with a degree will certainly give one a better head start...my five cents worth....

  maybe u can try dem out 4 no pay for first 2 wks? den can make better selection..
