DEATH OF STUDENT FROM KUOK FOUNDATION HOUSEWe wish to inform you about a fatal fall of a student from our student hostel Kuok Foundation House (KFH) yesterday afternoon, 20 Jan 2008.
At about 3.40 pm, Campus Security was informed that someone had fallen from one of the upper floors at KFH. Campus Security Officers rushed to the incident site and found a young man lying on the grass patch near some shrubs. They immediately called for an ambulance which conveyed him to National University Hospital (NUH).
The young man, Mr Wang Cheng (21 years of age) from China, was a second-year (Stage 3) Chemical Engineering student who resided at KFH.
At about 5.00pm, the student was pronounced dead at NUH. His family has been informed.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of this young man and are providing all the necessary support and assistance to his family.
The police are now investigating the incident.
