  Recently I helped a friend assemble a computer with the following specs with a tight budget and weird configuration:
  1.6 AMD Athlon XP CPU
  256 RAM
  Nvidia Geforce2 64mb
  20GB Maxtor Harddisk
  52X BENQ(acer) cdrom drv
  32x CDR BENQ
  250 ZIP Drive internal
  15" Monitor
  floppy/keyboard/scroll mouse
  2.1 sub woofer speaker set.
  56k v.90 modem internal
  (integrated audio onboard)
  I met his budget of $1300. All parts are completely new!

  Does anybody know any place in Singapore that sells PC1066 RDRAM? So far, i've only had managed to find PC800 around. I'm planning an upgrade for a video editing platform and was thinking about the AMD 1.8Ghz for its competitive pricing. But the new 533FSB CPUs from Intel really smoke even the AMDs.
  
  I was thinking of making the switch, but only if i can find the more powerful RDRAM, else the AMDs would be comparable and be the way to go.
  
  Thanks in advance for any leads. I'd appreciate it if you knew the prices of the PC1066s as well. If they exist.
