Life in NUS is boring and it sucks...

I think life in NUS is %@*#&@^#$* boring!!! There's nothing else to life except for tutorials, projects, uncomprehensible teachers, hordes of think-they-very-chio-and-so-become-very-dao girls, and legions of think-they-very-cool-and-so-become-a-poser guys. Sometimes I wonder if I'm going to waste all my years in NUS to boring stuff?
C'mon, it's not as if I didn't try to make my own life better, but I think people are getting more and more indifferent. Boring hor?

Well, I guess I felt the same way too last time.....but then I realised that I got to find my own clique.....cause with the numerous types of people there, I can't say I can get along with all of them....Guess you are in arts right? Well, I think arts people have it worse, cause we change our tutorial groups every module, and it is hard to make good friends and stick to them.

Then if you fairly like a girl in your present tutorial or lecture, chances are: you will not be seeing her anymore in the next sem. Then very hard to find chance liao... *sigh*
Then if see each other along the corridors also dunno whether to say "hi" or not. Scared she later say, "do I know you?" So pai seh. No thanks to our modular system that gives students so little chance to 'interact'. *sigh again* -
Then my frens say, "you in Arts? Happening!"

Hey guys..do you know you all are so lucky?
My faculty is the most boring of all cos' we are always facing the computer screen everyday for at least 8hrs.It's becoming so bad that many guys got addicted and became slave to those stupid terminals.No LIFe !
Guess which fac I am from?Probably u have guess...it is computer science.It is true that nowadays ppl are very dependent on computers for a livelihood but it had gotten to a stage that we became so isolated from out surroundings.Ppl don't care even if the world is going to end soon as long as they
have a computer or a laptop around, they think they are safe.I know this is a bit far-fetch but it is true in out fac!The chio bos are no different from other facs.Some would fall for guys who can help them in their homework/projects.A proper term would be MATERIALISTIC.However, I do agree that some are quite hardworking.
You should pay a visit to our labs one day and you will know the truth.It is becoming a second home to those geeks.A pity , a lot of them are guys who are still unattached , their time are being spent on computers.
I am lucky to say that I still have life outside school cos'I am quite active in sports.
Sorry for writing such a long message but I feel much better after saying this out.

Reminds me of an article I read in Times..
One woman went to the Silicon Valley to get to know rich millionaires who got their fortunes from the dot.com craze. Anyway, she married this 43-year-old millionaire. Guess what he requested on the wedding night? (if I didn't remember wrongly) He wanted that woman to read him bedtime stories! Ohmigosh.
Guess that woman's disappointment..anyway, she had since divorced that 'kid', & married an even richer millionaire. That article did not say if the 2nd one was better, but it did say alot about the computer geeks who became millionaires, but as they spend so much of their life with their computers,they have apparently forgotten how to lead a normal life & socialise with people. -
I just want to add on to my point.Not all of us are comp geeks.There are others who would like have balance between school and personal life but the cirriculum(hope I spelt correctly) in our fac doesn't allow us to have time for other activities e.g dating.Very often , we had to spent our weekends to churn out programming assignments while my friends over at the other facs are enjoying their weekends.I am really fed up with the system.Maybe I shouldn't studied comp science in the 1st place cos' I felt that I really missed out a lot of fun at my age!Too bad, I just have to bear with it for one more year.

Bizad is supposed to be another happening fac too rite?? i'm almost graduating liao, and still dun understand how happening it can be.
seems that pple from different faculties are complaining about their respective faculties, including me, and wondering if they have made the wrong choice of going there. but if u think carefully, i think that no matter wat fac u r in, you'll still end up complaining, so bear wif it lor, you'll get by. those in arts, since u all having the modular thingy as well, might as well make full use of it. Since u all hate NUS so much, take more modules each semester, or take special term, and u can graduate earlier and get out of NUS faster.
life's like tat lah...just try to make the best out of it...

I guess happening things happen to only happening pple?
All I know is that for the past 3 yrs I am in NUS, I wasn't exactly the happiest person on Earth Maybe I wasn't a "on" person, but seriously, I really don't enjoy Uni life very much... -
Well, actually, I am not that unhappy with my uni life. It could be better, I guess, but at least I know I enjoy it more than I will working. Hall life is quite fun too, I recommend everyone who is going to U to at least try to stay in hall one sem....

There's another interesting observation I made:
All my guy frens from Engine complain about their fac b4 they go in. You know, the usual things like "So technical, no chio bu" and "so many guys, not like other faculties with abundance of chio bu" and stuff...
But guess what? Right now they are the most enthusiastic bunch of ppl I know who look forward to going to school every day. The reason? Their class. Cos their class will stay together for almost 3 years and that sort of bind them together. So envious... So to ppl coming into Engine fac: it's really not so bad. -
By the way, how will you people react if someone of the opposite sex approaches you in NUS. You know, like ask to get to know you, or ask you out...
Will you feel turned off? Or flattered? Or happy? Are looks the most important criteria? Will you ppl even want to get to know your 'approacher' further if he/she is not good looking?
For the gals, what to you think is the best way to be approached by a guy? (Yeah, call me a stupid buaya, but I think I'm just asking for the answer that many ppl will like to know. Hee...)
Those experienced ones share with us leh...

if someone of the opp sex approaches me in NUS, i'd probably not like it..coz not that interested in getting to noe strangers. but i won't ignore him when he approaches me. will be friendly, but won't give him my number. i've had pple approaching me at the busstop, in the library etc, but they weren't that successful in getting to noe me. but if i'm lucky enuff to get a nice goodlooking guy approaching me, then it might be another story..hiaks
i think the best approach to knowing girls is to try to be in the same class as them, better still ask her if you can join her group for projects. since project groupmates have to exchange numbers, that's a sure way of getting her contact. but this is only if you are in the same faculty. if not, take cross-fac and pray and pray that she'll be taking that module too! -
Sparkle says she won't exactly like guys to approach her unless he's good looking...
Is that true for all girls, or is it just Sparkle alone? I mean, don't you feel at least flattered and wish that more guys will approach you, even if he's not, well, exactly 'yan dao'? -
