guys & gals: Is REPUTATION important to U?

I'm curious to know from both the male & female perspective.
Is a guy's reputation (with regards to whether he is someone who sleeps around or
someone who doesn't)important to him?
Are there any guys who would boast of their sexual conquest & purposely create an image as a "player"?
Are there any gals who do not care about their reputation at all?
Especially some Hall people who sleep around....not scared that people talk about their activities behind their backs meh? -
i dun think i eben have a reputation to speak of liao...

Reputation comes from issues such as whether the guy/girl is a Talent Development Programme student/University Scholar, a Dean's List student, a straight-As student, a valedictorian, a government scholar, etc etc. Not whether the guy/girl sleeps around often or not (who cares, anyway?)

is it naive/idealistic to think that reputation is only the result of academic merits and other things you do on the side can't be used against you some point later in time or to undermind your talents by other people who are very competitive or bitchy.

Only something for people to gossip about.
Given for example a guy sleeps around that people know about. Then girls who like to sleep around too would prob get to know this person.
Those who won't will stay away from him and think less of him.
Whatever the case somewhere along the line someone will get hurt.
The guy who probably does sleep around will realise some time in the future that it's not so great. (Unless he is the kind of guy who does not want to get married and have someone to cherish; i can't see how one can do that after sleeping with so many other people)
Anyway i guess it all comes down to the individual. If he can truly say that he is happy with what he does then reputation does not matter does it.

Talking about reputation, yeah, it is true that certain people be it guys or gals couldn't care less about it. But think it in another way, do YOU really care what kind of people are they?
Seriously, would you bother with these people in the first place, not unless they are relatives, friends, or someone related to you. Hmm.. maybe a survey could be made on this topic, who noes what the result would be. It is often hard to differentiate between fact and fiction, just like most of what is written in the forums. A lot of it 'could' be exaggerated for all we know. So take everything with a pinch of salt..
