Jam n Hop = NUSSU Bash = Arts Bash = Bizad Bash = ??

Have anyone ever wondered why are there events like those mention on the subject above?
Aren't they similar, if not the same? To me, they are perfect substitutes! Besides, all NUS students are not denied entry to any of the above, so why are there so many bashes and jam n hops?
If they could pool their funds together, will they be able to save much more funds for more productive activities such as provision of loan to needy students, purchase of more required texts and have them in the library, upgrading of university's facilities ... ...
Personally i am not one who likes to "cheong", so my opinion might be biased. Those out there who "cheong", what are your opinions? -
I guess it's some kind of formality lor... The past batches did it, so they muz continue wif the tradition lor.
Also, i think profit is one of their motives too? -
Is it just me or have the standards of bashes declined steadily in the last few years?

Profit? sure or not? Can they make profit out of such activities? Especially the Bizad Bash, i heard the turnout is the worst! Tradition? Common, traditions in this internet era will be wiped out by some other forms of entertainment. Still Jam n Hop? I tnk by the next few years, only the NUSSU and Arts' Bash will survive bcoz Bizad Bash experience MC > MR and will be forced to shut down due to P < AVC.
