STOMPer verybigdeal is frustrated that there are always so many rats at Tampines block 468, and says the town council should do something to put an end to this problem.
In an email to STOMP yesterday (Nov 23), the STOMPer said:
“I wonder what the town council is doing. Every month, residents have to pay conservancy charges to maintain the place but rats are always spotted at Tampines block 468 Street 44.
“Isn’t it the town council's responsibility to get pest control people to do the job?
“What is town council doing with the conservancy money residents pay every month?”
Irresponsible.
lure the cat to this area lar. so many wild cats at HDB void deck.
We need to pay 8 months bonus to whoever is in charge of that area.
Then there will be no more rat problems.
eeeeeeek
They are killing the cats.
There are more complaints about cats than rats.
For cats, action taken the same day or latest the next day. For rats you get an "Ok we'll look into it".
And when the cats are gone, the mouse moves in.
Ah! Stupid, but politically savvy.
Ratatouille? :D
Rats can be a potential health hazard..
Catch the rats, put them in a box and place it outside the town council.
Call in the Pipe Piper!
Singapore cats are afraid of the rats!
Pay fat bonus also no use.......muhahahaha
How about dogs? Dogs also eat rats right
How about dogs? Dogs also eat rats right
Oooh rat...
Make sure that you report these to NEA, TC and MDA so that your TC will get the lowest TC ratings.
Strangely a report shows that Tampines TC is the best!
Kelong! MDA is Mah bow tan - Tampines GRC also Mah bow tan...
22 Nov - The Tampines Town Council released a snap shot of its Town Council Management Report on Sunday.
Data collection from all 16 town councils in Singapore began last month and Tampines is the first to reveal preliminary results.
About 10 percent of the 625 HDB blocks in Tampines have been assessed so far.
The Tampines Town Council received mostly "level one" - the highest level achievable - for half of the four areas assessed.
It faired well for lift performance and arrears management.
There were few lift breakdowns and less than 30 percent of households owed more than three months' worth of town council fees.
However, Tampines received the average rating of "three" for estate maintenance, and a "two" for estate cleanliness.
The indicator for estate maintenance is the average number of defects, such as broken tiles and spoilt lightbulbs, found per block.
Speaking at a town hall forum on Sunday, National Development Minister and adviser to the Tampines Town Council, Mah Bow Tan, said the estate should strive towards "level one" for all the areas.
But he added that how well an estate fares does not depend on the town council alone. For example, residents have a role to play too when it comes to keeping the estate clean.
He said: "Cleanliness is not only a matter of how many cleaners we deploy, how fast the cleaners work, how efficient the cleaners are...the cleaner can be very efficient, but if the residents continue to litter or some residents are very prone to littering or non-civic conscience when it comes to littering, then that particular block or that particular part of the estate will be very dirty."
The first Town Council Management Report covering all estates will be released in the second quarter of next year.
There are 16 town councils across Singapore managing some 900,000 flats.
14 are run by the ruling PAP and two by the opposition - the Workers' Party in Hougang and the Singapore People's Party in Potong Pasir.
put mouse traps lar. or go catch the wild cats in hdb void deck and put them here, new environment for them and also better for them.
Engineer a cat with the body and size of a dog
when the cat is bigger than the rat, it will go and catch the rats
actually residents all at fault also, if no food = no mice, for what complain so much where u all throw food down for fun.
Nah wad choice we has
ppl are littering place into the drains, ground
from green become black
Aiyah either you all go lure cats to your area and stop complaning abt cats then the rat will have problem finding food liao instead may even become the cats " toys " . I ever see 1 cat playing with the dead body of a mice it caught . And also don't go and neuter those cats because after they have been neutered , esp male cats , they will lose their aggresiveness and stop catching rats , this is very true cos my mum noticed before , a male cat whom has always aggresively catching rats stop doing so completely after being neutered and rats soon become a probem at the coffeshop .
Another way is lure or catch the rats then introduce them or sneak them into your town council building and see what they do . Buy rat cages to trap then release them near your town council without being seen of course in case you kana caught and sued .
Catapult some rats into Parliament and the Istana...
