A STOMPer sent in pictures of severe flooding along other parts of Bukit Timah Road, adding to the many accounts STOMP has received from other STOMPers.
Some of these took place along Jalan Haji Alias.
STOMPer Bertrand also witnessed flooding along Bukit Timah Road. He says:
"Took place this afternoon at about 2 plus."
The STOMPer sent in photos which show motorists getting out in the heavy rain to push their vehicles.
Another STOMPer and Bukit Timah resident, Raymond, says:
"I happened to return home at about 1pm. It was already drizzling.
"The downpour came around 1.30pm. All of a sudden the drain outside my house along Jalan Haji Alias overflowed with water rushing onto the main road.
"There was a bit of chaos because of the construction works to widen the drain.
"The overflowed water caused the dustbins and construction barriers to float out of place. Construction workers were frantically moving them to higher ground.
"There were civil defence vehicles moving towards Coronation Road West (and I heard from my friends today that they were there to help residents carry young children out of the flooded areas).
"I have been residing here for 20 years now and this is the first time that we have experienced such a situation.
"The first thing that crossed my mind was to unplug the switch for the main gate as the water was already covering the wires of the auto gate.
"I was helping the construction workers move some of the construction road barriers. It was quite dangerous as the barriers were floating towards the centre of the road.
"At about 2.30pm, the overflowed water on the road subsided and I managed to drive back to office around 3.30pm, avoiding the mass traffic jam around the area."
