Woman brings pet into train, then gives frustrated look when others shun her
STOMPer noexit said this woman brought her pet dog into the train, and gave a frustrated look when other commuters walked away from her.
Said the STOMPer:
"I would like to share some pictures that I took on the MRT on October 21 when I was taking the train from Ang Mo Kio to Orchard station.
"I saw a lady bring in a cute little pet into the train.
"When people who saw her and her pet quickly walked away, this lady gave a very fasturated look, she owned the train and it was her right to bring a pet into the station and train.
"I hope this picture could be shared with other STOMPers and maybe the owner can understand what others might feel."

Which leads me to wonder... If one can easily smuggle a pet on board (which is pretty noticable), what makes you think that it's difficult to smuggle a bomb or CA on board?Which leads to the 2nd question - is the current solution we have, hiring people to conduct searches, and getting paid for it by taxpayers' money, actually doing any good? -

are you talking about the auntie and uncle security at MRT stations?
do you think they care about these? btw they worked 12 hour shifts every day, 6 days a week and is paid $50 a day.

The dog is not really an issue.
But if aunty with dogs can get on board unnoticed, so can terrorists with bombs.
Don't be surprised if one of our MRT stations ended up in smoke and rubbles.

ya la bt den in the 1st place why must they be employed if they cant even spot this doggy? If they cant spot such a obvious thing, den how will they be on the lookout for "suspicious characters"? Im nt trying to say tht all the securities r nt doing deir jobs la, bt jst becuz of some ppl who fuckcare, ppl tend to say things abt them in general.

And who are you to say that the security didn't spot it - they could've just closed one eye, you know. The dog's in a carrier and not the yappy kind. Are you claiming that you can force an animal to swallow a bomb? Otherwise, what threat is there?
The last part of the STOMP article is a bit of conjecture. Sure, some people are allergic to animal hair, but don't try to second guess what they are thinking.

Firstly, im nt trying to say tht a dog can be made to swallow a bomb or wadever. If the securities can miss this, wad makes u think they will be able to spot a suspicious person? Somemore thr is alr a sign saying no pets allowed if u look carefully, ask the MRT personnel if u wan
If rly canot make it, at least use a fully enclosed carrier la, like those for hamsters. Somemore tis aunty dare to give the frustrated look, do smth wrong also nvr feel shame.

I repeat: Are you so sure that they missed it, or did they close one eye? Perhaps they talked to her and let her through anyway, she could have had her reasons.

The probability of 2 security guards (1 at her MRT station and 1 at her destination stop) both closing one eye is rather low. BUT if this was the case then I have nothing to say abt it since they did spot her but were lenient. But the thing is both of us dunno wad happened.
