Line up three of your friends and stand in a queue facing say, a blank wall. Within 10 minutes, you can bet, five strangers will be standing in line too.
In fact, I think Singaporeans would start queueing all the way to the moon if they heard freehold condominiums with an unblocked sun-view would be opening there in the year 2040.
The "kiasu" mentality is often blamed for this social phenomenon.

Well it is true that Singaporeans are kiasu but not everyone is that extreme.
Don't tell me that you never be kiasu before? I mean this is human nature..wanting to win and not loose out. Being kiasu is not that bad, at least it makes you work towards a goal. Only people who are extremely kiasu then need to do something about it. Otherwise it should be okie.

The most common ugly sight is .. Raffles place... where freebies galore... you'll see ppl brave the heat and form long lines in suits, ties and office wear.. -
yeah lor...those ppl really can go and line up in the heat...wonder how come no one faints from heatstroke siah....

Heard that even before the NDP tickets venue were officially announced on 7th July 2002 (Sun)... there is already a queue outside many possible tix distribution centres in Singapore.
