NO. Relatively safe ones are whole wheat noodles/pasta, quinoa and rye bread. They're difficult to find so just keep your portion smaller than the food pyramid suggests, and eat more fruits and vegetables (fresh and raw if possible).

Fresh, pesticide-free veggies. Otherwise most are great, especially dark green leafy veggies, califlower, broccoli and celery. Before I forget, there are hidden empty carbs in things like normal supermarket-bought yogurt (but not Greek yogurt) and fishballs. Read the ingredient labels of everything you buy.

Swimming is the best cardio / calorie burning exercise out there and there is little to no impact on joints. I've been a swimmer my whole life and definitely recommend it to anyone looking to shape up.
