生死大事

  生死大事 ── �顺导师于马尼剌居士林开示（�帖人：金刚护��使）

  一个人寿命无常，从出生以�，慢慢长大，�过几�年，一百年，或者更长的时间，总得一死。普通人以为死就完了，那并�是一件什么大事。但佛法说，一 个人的生命，�是出生以��有，也�是死了就算完结，如果�是这么简�，人生就�胡里胡涂地混过，��为什么大事。 其实生命在未出生以�就已�有了，死了之��会引起新的生命，生到别地方去，生死死生，生生�已，是件难得解决的问题。�想解决这�易解决的问题，所以� �为大事。好比�生�的人，今年年�开始�业，到了年终，计算盈�，欠人人欠，�还清楚；明年�是一样，年年如此并�是一结账就完结。一年年下去，�求得 永久的盈余，这就�是容易事了。

   

  怎样处�这个问题呢？今年生�好，赚了很多钱，明年�济有把�，万事如�；今年�本了，�年�济拮�，东移西借，困苦�堪。人生也是这样，一生一 死，在生死当中，就�考虑得失。如果这一生没有好好的�，下一次失了人身，就算是�本。如能进步而胜过现在，那就好了。有一点值得注�的，是虽然年终结 算，�济状况�佳，但如调度得宜，也�勉强过去。所以学佛人，临终��紧，平常固然��上行善，临终的时候，也得好好注�。

  平常都说生死，有的误以为一死百了，所以现在就先从死说起，从死说到生。普通人对死都有一�惧怕的心�，其实死并没有什么�怕，例如平常生��得 好，年关�调度得宜，新年到�，一定有好日�过。所以没有病的时候，固然欢喜，真的有病痛�死，也并�必怕，��平时预备好就得了�

  佛法说，死有三���：

  一�寿尽而死：寿命真的完了，无论活到好大的�数，从�生业报所感的寿命，一定会死的。如�尽油干，现在�人�活到一百�左�，到这个时期就得死，无法挽救。

  二��尽而死：日常生活需�衣食�行，有的还没有到�的年龄，�应该死，但是�报完了，没饭�，没衣穿，就饿死冻死。

  三��应该死而死：�到战争�水�����失手打死，病无医�，�知调养，�养�足，�劳过度等而断�了生命，这与寿尽�报尽是��的。

  学佛的人对于死，�记�两个��：

  一�什么时候都�以死，从少到�都有死的�能。人类的寿命，虽大致相近，然由于�尽或枉死，所以从�生就死起，一直到寿尽而死的，都是无定期。所以 信佛学佛，�立刻�进，切勿等待他年明年。二���以为寿命全是�生业报，实在多数是现生的�果。�应�的去�，�好好自己�养，或者懒惰放逸，弄得衣食 �足，少年��年�壮年的死亡，勿以为这一定是属于寿尽而死的。

  没有了脱生死以�，死了还有生，轮回生死，究竟是什么一回事，上�，堕�，以什么�标准？佛法说，由于业力。业力，就是所作所为所引起的力�。今生 的�报人间，是�生的业力，�生（没有得报的）与今生的善�业，�决定�生的�途。佛教徒�指业力为�的，其实�然，起心行事所留下的力�，好�都是业。 �自己的业力，�决定自己的果报，所以佛法说：「自作自��。但是，�生剩下的，今生造作的，或善或�，业力无边，�生到底是由那一�业力去促�呢？这有 三类分别：

  一���──无论怎样，一到病�将死时业力就现起�，平时所�好事�事都很多，当这个时候，有一项强大的──�管是好或�会现起�，人就�这个力� 去得报。一个弒父的人，心里常常记在心中，忘记�了，�使忘记，也还是强有力的存在。临死的时候，这些罪行就会现�。�样，一个�常�顺父�的临命终时， �顺的善业，也自然会呈现眼�。这与负债的人到了年终，债主都�，其中一个强而有力的，追讨旧债特别厉害，�得�先还他一样。

  二��习──有的人，没有顶好与顶�的业，但平生的作事，习以为常，也�产生伟大的力�，虽��终�得�报，�善也�得善报。所以说：「水滴虽微， �盈大器�。佛举例说：犹如大树，生长时略�东斜，如以斧头�断，势必�东倒无疑。中国人常说冤鬼�命，宰猪羊的�猪羊，�蛇的看到蛇，都�苦连天，惊慌 失措。猪羊畜牲等被��，牠们早是�业而�报了，但动手屠�的，都无形中�断的留下�业，愈积愈�。所以业相现�（�牛蛇猪羊等索命），�业去�报。

  有一故事是这样说：一个人�谋财害命，夜里把有钱的人�害，拿了钱回家。他感觉到被害的人，时常跟在背��钱�命，�惧而死。�久，被害的人�了。 其实他��伤，并没有死。所以说这是冤鬼索命，便��通，因为此人并没有死。佛法称为业相现�，��乎事�。为�的临终现苦�相，为善�功德的，临终时必 定会安闲愉快，这都是由于所作业力，��或�习而显现出�。三��忆：也有人平生没有�大的善�事情，也没有积习的事情，最�忽然想到什么，就以此善念或 �念而�报。佛法平常指示对待病�的人，必须�他念佛�念法�念僧，称赞他平时布施�戒功德等，使其忆起了功德，心生善念，�这个力�，就会走上好的� 途。有人善业很多，�是临终时�了刺激，心中难过，�念现�，以致堕�。如一年之中，生��错，�惜年终调度�宜，使整年努力付之东�。

  所以当人临终，无论年纪�少，��宜啼啼哭哭，打扰心神，使生起烦�。应该�他把一切都撇开，专心念佛�念法�念僧�念施等。如生��佳，年终处� 得法，还�过年一样。�过，到底平时�于临终时，如平时造���，���他起一善念而��得。平时能有�大善业，或习善�性，那末加以命终时的助其忆念， 就决定��了。

  怎么�从死而生呢？一���，精神作用�顿，身体的温度消失�死。通常说，从�亲胎里出��生，在佛法说并�如此。以�生业识为因，��父精�血的结�（约人类说），从结胎时就开始了新生命，这就是生。所以为了�女众多的牵累而打胎者，也犯了�生的戒。

  为什么死���生呢？这��一定，有的死��生，有的就�会�生。所以死��生，是因为业力的驱使。但�善业得善报，�业得�报，一个人总有善业与 �业，那就�是永久解决�了生死�？真实的说，�是业力，还�一定能使我们�生；除了业力，还�烦�作助缘。烦�中最��的，是生命之「爱�。贪�世间， 希望生存，这一念存在，就�下生死死生的根�。修行佛法的人，�了生死，就是�断除生命之贪爱。

  例如虽有��，如�浇水加肥，就�会�出芽�。这样，业�虽多，如无烦�──爱等水润，也就�会�感�生的苦芽。如�图��富贵，爱�生命，那就死死生生，永无了期。�了生死，须彻底看破，没有生之爱�，那么旧的生死结�，新生死就�会�生了。

  在没有了生死之�，希望大家记�：��作�，�多作善业，�善因以得善报。��把生死看作好事情，�会厌离生死，出离苦海。

  Indeed! I've a close relative who just got to know Buddhism. He has mistaken that Buddhism is about how to lead a better life. I told him no, it's about how to end the countless cycles of rebirth. 了生死。I'm not surprised that many beginners do not know. Perhaps Buddhists did ot emphasize äº†ç”Ÿæ­»enough. This relative is an ex-Christian. Not easy to change their perceptions of Buddhism. He kind of shock when I told him that.

  It never craps if know it.  ice is form of crap if not awared from it. although wen its empty and lot of craps, and wen is also wen wisdom.

  Leading a better life is actually end the countless cycles of rebirth. Buddhism is about knowing suffering, the root cause of it and cessation of it. So, upon knowing it, accepting it, live with it, surpass it and you change from an ignorance life to an awareness life which is a better life.

  life is both suffering n happiness , without experiencing both there is no fullfilment. all talk n no understanding of wats actually life is just BS.

  man wld prefer soaring speeches to raging wars. somehow its just words to the ears

  writting gud posts r only for those innocent souls who r too naive to comprehen the meaning of life.

  No. Everything is what it is.

  If everything is empty- you are still recycling in samsara- �浪生死

  everything is empty is annihilistic view. But also everything is not permanent. Try to see thing as it is- formed by conditions and end by conditions. Then u will feel that �浪生死 is not fun and full of crap.

  so emptiness is temporary? buddha is temporary, nature is temporary or even the universe is temporary but wat has it got to do with u?

  if u do not noe wat is life , so wat is all the talk about life?

  only the man at the edge will understand his life n his purpose.

  i don't know whether temporary is the precise, correct term to use

  to me: to know what's life, need to know what is craving... Craving for existence- be it your space in society, necessities etc. Craving itself is brings stress..

  the man on the edge - u mean u are driven on the verge by something...?

  i agree that life can be pressurizing at times... try not to give rise to frustration and negative thoughts... tough times don't last. Buddhism does not give empty talk about suffering and build castles in the air.
  
  it acknowledge that life itself is suffering- like most suttas mentioned:

  From birth as a requisite condition, then aging & death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, distress, & despair come into play. Such is the origination of this entire mass of stress & suffering.

  �缘有，有缘生，生缘�死....

  生缘�死 - means birth and have to subjected to sufferings in life, aging, pain of death... so....�浪生死 again... is not fun and full of craps...

  hope you can find your way out of difficulties. Suffering is the best yet ironical prerequisites to learn buddhadharma.

  life of a silk road? difficulty is only a word not to apply to ppl of all level
