Question about a line in the larger amitabha sutra

  'This thought occurs to me, O Bhagavat: probably, the Tathagata dwells to-day in the state of a Buddha, probably the Tathagata dwells to-day in the state of a Jina, in the state of omniscience, in the state of a Mahanaga; and he contemplates the holy and fully enlightened Tathagatas of the past, future, and present.'

  This passage was taken from the larger amitabha sutra but I do not understand it very well, could you explain it?

  hmm, seem a bit different or off translated. perhaps a chinese version can help understand a bit. 唯然大圣，我心念言：“今日世尊�奇特之法；今日世雄�诸佛所�；今日世眼�导师之行；今日世英�最胜之�；今日天尊行如�之德；去�现在，佛佛相念，得无今佛念诸佛耶？ http://bookgb.bfnn.org/books/0089.htm Jina (Sanskrit). A title used of the Buddhas, meaning victor. not too sure of the Mahanaga though. something to do with great merits? /\

  Thanks Sinweiy. Is Large Amitabha Sutra in Chinese 无�寿�？I also don't quite understand the lines quoted by Beautiful. May be can listen to Master Ching Kong's talk on 净土大�. I've not watched yet, will watch it when I'm free. Thanks Beautiful, you are getting me interested in the Larger Amitabha Sutra.

  might also emphasis on the word 奇特之法, uniquely, inconcieveable method, which is the Amitabha remembrance method.

  Search the entire Tripitaka, only this sutra mentioned this ultimate holy praise. 

   

   

  佛佛相念也æ„�味著念佛乃無上深妙禪。但是念佛有‘å�£å¿µè€³è�¼å¿ƒå¿µ’，‘有心念’，‘也有神念’。
