一心乱 -
Most people thought that this 一心乱 was meant to reach something like deep concentration (samadhi) stage, then it would be considered as 一心乱.
It would sound difficult to reach that stage, especially during the final moments of last breath. But what I learnt in the discussion was, it wasn't supposed to be like this. As long as a person, who has faith in Amituofo, aspires to be reborn there, recites Amituofo's Name single-mindedly, wholeheartedly, despite feelings of anxiety, nervousness of not knowing what happens next after death.
For example, a person with heart attack, or a person in a sudden fatal accident. During the last moments, the dying person's mind will not be inverted, state of confusion, anguish, pain, attachment but more of like in a peaceful state of mind.
Hmm was quite a relief was me... haha, don't even know what samadhi state is like... lol
A point to take note is... different schools have different approach in 一心乱
that would be tiresome to know the differences of all schools... but most importantly, faith, aspirations and practice must not be lacking in it..

Already changed for you. Thanks for sharing. I can feel the inner peace when I recite Amituofo with unconfused mind.
This is what I sometimes wonder about. There will be people in much pain at their time of death. What will become of them should they not be able to concentrate very well? ...thanks for sharing this with us.

dear all , in tibetan buddhism , khenpo always advised us to be well-versed visualise our root guru
Same ,if one encounter great pain and could not recite the name of Amitabha, should start cultivating the habit visualise Amitabha shine light fm the forehead ...
then karmic obstacle will be dispelled gradually
thanks Dawn :)
More importantly for the 一心乱 is referring 其人临命终时. In order to achieve it, is through daily practice of mindfulness on Namo Amitabha Buddha, and truly having faith that there is a pureland amitabha within the same dimension of mankind, and is our nature true mind, for complete liberation of serenity bliss and harmony. As for tibetan buddhism, the process of visualisation is different because of self-power in nature, and the tenet of visualisation is Thusness or supreme emptiness, as that of the quintessence of "Buddha Amitabha".
So, in fact, buddhists in tibetan tradition can achieve their self-power actualization of visualization through Buddha Amitabha meditation practice as well.
