LAs Vegas MGM casino resort will be opening in 2013!
The casino will be based n Ho Tram Strip and will be named MGM Grand Ho Tram!
So whoever can't get jobs here in our IR can apply there loh !!
Whore Tramp ???????
expected lah, those guys that can't get casino here will open in Thailand, etc this kind of countries...........that's why i 've said for years 2 casinoes in S'pore will never work............
Las Vegas MGM somemore. Tough luck Spore's Casino.
those in southeast asia can only attract big players from the region, it'll never be able to consistently get big players from elsewhere to come...................
i give them maximum 2 years before 100 buck levy gone to attract the ikan bilis from S'pore.............
if Sands don't go bust from the financial credit crunch 1st................it'll take them a loooooong time to make money............maybe must pay people to gamble...............LOL
at the end of the day whatever casino or universal studio they built it will be all over asia as such......they would not be able to recover the capital investment.
All you need is for Indo and My to considered other theme park. Why would American comes to asia and visit theme park where it can be found in their own state?
and why not all states in the US have the same theme park?
Will it affect Singapore casinos?
sure, vietnam is so near china rich. Singapore can close shop liao...
but it is also good, if by 2013, not much gambler come here, Sg govt may waive the $100 entry fees for Singaporeans

so u do make some sense huh? lol. But honestly, I dun think the govt will backtrack on the $100 levy because that was the reason they used to convince sgporeans that bankruptcy due to gambling would be minimised.
I think they might just step up their efforts in marketing themselves overseas, tie ups with airlines, sign tourism agreements with other countries to bring the volume in. Looks like the casino won't die so soon huh. What's more these days, with budget airlines, the volume of air travellers have increased many folds. And we have the entire south east asian market to play with.
number of gamblers don't matter, the casinoes need the middle class and fat cats to make money................southeast-asia lacking in both..................
M'sians will still go Genting, maybe even the Thais...................there's casinoes in Philippines, right ? and now Vietnam getting one too.......
the fat cats can also go to Australia................
S'pore casinoes are banking on foreigners especially China tourists....................when huge huge market crash comes again like in 2008................tourism will greatly reduce in numbers.............
don't forget, Sands almost went bankrupt when they couldn't get more loans to finish S'pore casino, imagine the trouble they'll be in now they have to repay casino-building loans in US, Macau and S'pore................they might just go bust...........very likely too.
One big minus point is our relatively high xchange rate in the region. Msians come sg and their money shrinks more than half, what a big turn off for gambling! Likewise for the rest of SEA, so i guess only the rich will come. Aussies have a stronger dollar so that line of tourists no problem.
Haha it's still a fresh concept for many around Asia, our RWS and MBS. I believe the crowds will last another 2-3 years. After that, c how again when the Shanghai and Viet casinos are built.
I think you also hv to look at the other side of midnight, on the other hand, if a malaysian wins here, he/she wins sing dollars and back in malaysia , he/she can exchange for more ringgit,s, you must understand that gambler think differently.
Shanghai is opening another disneyland in 2015 with it casinos, just like our USS, wonder what vietnam is going to built beside their casino to attract family??
Here's the preview of MGM in Vietnam!
Thinking of working there, looks grand!
