Hello readers!!!
This coming December I will be going to NY will a few of my friends. So I'm not sure how much I need to bring. As I will be away for 3 weeks. Advices are need from people who went NY before:)
Air Ticket $1600
Apartment Rental $1300
Food: $?
Transport: $?
Museums Visiting: $?
Shopping: $?
I hope the $ you put up there is US$.
I dunno what lodging you are looking for, and the number of days.
Food is not cheap, unless you like street food like hot dogs, and pizza.
The subway is the best mode of transport, taxis are plentiful, but thats in manhattan.
To save money visiting musuems, and sightsee spots, I recommend you get the new york city pass, google it. Not all are free, can't remember, but I think I got into the Museum of natural history free. Wow, bestest place ever.
Only idiots shop in NYC. Smart people go to the suburban malls like Roosevelt mall in garden city. An Abercrombie polo tee will set you back 60 bucks at its flagship store at fifth avenue. The same polo tee is retailing 30 bucks at the mall, 10 bucks if they are clearing.
I converted usd to sgd,
3 weeks of lodging in a apartment we rented. Those home type. $1300sgd.
My friend suggested to bring $9k, I felt that it is too much.
3 weeks only $1300? You sure? Where you staying? Newark ah?
3 weeks, $9k, manhattan, possible.
You can visit outlets for affordable shopping. Example a coach bag that costs $200+ there but in Singapore, definately much more expensive like $600 and above. You might be able to find items that are past season there but considered new in Singapore. But then again, its america so dont expect shopping there to be super cheap like bangkok.
MOMA, this art musuem has pretty cool exhibitions. Don't think admission is free though. And yes, the natural history museum is nice!
around 20,000
just come back from California . Spent 30,000 for 2weeks
Go to the empire state building.
