Hi all,
I would need your help here.. I'm going on a trip to japan during september.
But I'm not sure how much should I bring with me..
I'm still considering whether to take up Packages inclusive FLIGHT + HOTEL or just the flight tickets itself and book the hotel upon arrival. I would also like to experience different types of hotel or hostel in japan. My first destination would be in tokyo.
For the transportation, is it necessary to get a Japan Railway pass which cost $28,000yen. Any suggestion of cutting cost of transportation if im staying in tokyo for 4 days and would like to travel to osaka and kyoto for the remainding 3 days.
How much should I bring if i decides to book the hotel on the day itself?
Thanks and I hope to get more idea or any suggestion by anyone..

Bring $6000, if you dun have $6000, just bring as much as you have... if go alone, then make sure bring extra, if not really suffer there... because will tend to overspend than underspend... always got something crop up here and something crop up there... then need extra money...
how much you should bring depends on what you can afford. if you want to stay in hotel it is not cheap, try hostel or guesthouse (ryokan). 4 days is not a lot of time to try different accommodation and waste time checking in and out.
from tokyo to osaka/kyoto you have to go by train unless you can afford to fly. try arranging to fly to tokyo and return from osaka or vice versa. don't buy rail pass for single journey.
everything is expensive in japan, so plan well if you are on budget.
