Hey guys , just wanna see if u guys prefer to go on a holiday (with ur girl) to taiwan or hong kong .
Cause i know hong kong is full of shopping and taiwan is mostly food right ?
Taiwan. Hongkies are one bunch of arrogant people. Don't believe you can see it for yourself in taiwan.
Taipei already has lotsa places to fufill your itinerary. You can bring your gf to 五分埔 and 东区. Enough to burn a very big hole in your wallet.
Taiwan: cheaper, more stuff to see, better culture, more shopping and scenery, friendly people. transport within taipei is OK..
HK: air pollution, rude manners, communication problem (no canto no talk), mostly city/ urban landscape, lots of mainlanders, things are not cheap also, compared to taiwan, they also charge non-canto speakers special prices also..
transport wise.. quite good.. good network of buses n MTR, triad members..
Communication is not really a problem in hk for me cause i can speak canto .
My main concern is about the shopping . Like which country can u get to buy better looking cloths and stuff cause i've been to hong kong and the cloths there are really unique and better looking as compaired to singapore so i was wondering if i get stuff like that there. plus there were lots of shops in hong kong to shop from . Was wondering if there are as many shops in taiwan. And maybe a bit of sight seeing would be good but mainly shopping . Oh and is fun at the night markets in taiwan ? Are they like the night markets in thailand.
oh i also wanna know which night markets are better to go to .
Just do abit of research, the main night markets in Taipei are Shilin(Over rated ala Newton Circus) and Raohe.
Night markets all sell similar food. You can also check out 五分埔 and 东区. 五分埔 ala our bugis street except its much bigger. 东区 is the place with lotsa celebrity shops and designer labels.
Not fair to compare Taiwan and Hong Kong as a whole, would be better if you compare Taipei and Hongkong as both are similar in size and demographics.
whatever the case....the life of night markets are same everywhere...
Taiwan, without a doubt. :)
